We are a Colorado law firm that focuses in three main areas of the law: 1) criminal defense representation; 2) homeowner's and condo owner's associations (HOA's) on behalf of both owners and as general counsel for the association; and 3) and wrongful death civil litigation. We are known by our clients and our opponents to be fearless advocates. We use a trial-centered approach, instead of a settlement-centered approach. This enables us to better work with opposing parties by accurately analyzing your case to find the right legal solution that fairly represents your best interests. While many cases do eventually settle, we have the expertise in the courtroom to get the job done if necessary and effectively convey your message to the jury.
At The Evans Firm, we became lawyers to try cases...not to push paper. If you are going to hire a lawyer, shouldn't you hire one that is able to take your case from beginning to end and not force you to settle? What distinguishes your law firm from others?
What else makes us unique? The Evans Law Firm is known by our clients and our opponents to be fearless advocates and creative problem solvers. For criminal defense and wrongful death cases we use a unique trial-centered approach, instead of a settlement-centered approach common to most firms. Using a trial-centered approach enables us to achieve better results by thoroughly investigating your case, researching the law, and preparing witnesses and exhibits so that we can accurately analyze your case and advise you on the best legal solution(s) to achieve your goals.
Many other law firms do very little work on your case, hoping it will settle. While this may end up appearing "cheaper" to the client, unfortunately they can't accurately analyze your case's strengths and weaknesses, provide good advice, appreciate risk, or correctly value the possible results. Even worse, their minimal case preparation miss large problems, many times after it is too late. Although many cases do eventually settle, they can and should only settle for the right result - not whatever the lawyer "scares" you into. At The Evans Law Firm, we have substantial experience fighting cases in the courtroom, not from behind a desk. You can rest assured that we can get the job done at trial, if necessary, with the skill and craftsmanship needed to effectively convey your message to the jury.
We became lawyers to try cases...not to push paper. If you are going to hire a lawyer, shouldn't you hire one that is able to take your case from beginning to end and not get cold feet and force you to settle?

For HOA cases, we take a different approach, at least initially. Because of the nature of HOA cases, and the personal relationships involved, we strive to find unique legal solutions to problems in communities without resorting to litigation. While litigation is sometimes eventually needed, we work very hard to find a fair and reasonable resolutions for our HOA clients that will last - whether they are owners or board members. What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
Although, every person is entitled to represent themselves in a case, I have yet to see a person survive removing their own appendix on the operating table. Just as doctors went to medical school, lawyers went to law school.
