He is also well versed in family law as a former Special Assistant Attorney General with the Bismarck Child Support Enforcement Unit.
A native of McLaughlin, South Dakota, Jackson attended Northern State University where he played football for the Wolves and worked at the local Boys and Girls Club. He received his law degree from the University of South Dakota School. During law school, he attended the Institute on World Legal Problems in Innsbruck, Austria, where he took a class taught by United States Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
Jackson serves as the Vice President of the Bruce M. Van Sickle American Inns of Court and is a past program chair.
