Victoria Slatton

Before founding Stilwell & Slatton, Victoria Slatton worked as an Asylum Officer at the Department of Homeland Security under U.S. Customs and Immigration Services, where she successfully adjudicated over 100 asylum claims. As a former employee of USCIS, she has an in-depth understanding of the United States immigration system, allowing her to employ innovative and effective approaches to even the most complex immigration cases.

Victoria attended Oklahoma State University and graduated top of her class before moving to California to attend Pepperdine University School of Law. During her time in law school, she studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and interned for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. After graduation, Victoria moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked at the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. These experiences give her a unique and comprehensive background in a number of human rights and immigration matters, as well as a thorough understanding of the U.S. government.

She is a passionate activist for immigrant rights, and has volunteered with numerous local human rights organizations and immigration groups. As an attorney, she is a zealous advocate for her clients, and strives everyday to provide effective and clear representation.

Michelle Stilwell

Michelle is a civil rights attorney who has worked in appellate advocacy or litigation for her entire legal career. Prior to founding Stilwell & Slatton Immigration, she worked as an attorney at a nonprofit in D.C. where she wrote cert. petitions and amicus briefs to the Supreme Court and to other Court of Appeals advocating for civil liberties for businesses.

She has worked at the U.S. Attorney's Office both in D.C. and in California in both the civil and criminal division where she was a zealous advocate for the legal system. She externed for a federal district judge in California where she was able to better hone her legal advocacy and writing skills.

Michelle graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in the top 8% of her class where she aspired to be a human rights attorney. In furthering this passion, she wrote an article for law review on the role that the U.S. court system play in combating international human rights violations. She volunteered with several different organizations and won a scholarship to work in Israel for Shurat HaDin, a nonprofit law firm that uses civil litigation to combat terrorism.

Her passion lies in helping fight for immigrants, refugees, and victims of human rights abuses. She is passionate about using her legal skills to better the world and started this law firm to bring this passion alive.
