Stephen Glickman

Stephen A. Glickman is a veteran Chicago employment law attorney with over 25 years of experience in the field of employment law.

Mr. Glickman aggressively represents clients in all areas of employment law, employment discrimination, and employment law litigation, including many sexual harassment, pregnancy discrimination, and other claims involving gender discrimination in employment. He also handles Family and Medical Leave Act matters, including maternity leave and FMLA interference and retaliation claims.

A seasoned litigator, Mr. Glickman has successfully represented clients in federal and state court in a wide range of employment litigation. He also represents clients before federal, state, and local administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, U.S. Department of Labor, Illinois Department of Human Rights, Illinois Human Rights Commission, Illinois Department of Labor, Illinois Department of Employment Security, and City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations.

Mr. Glickman represents executives in a wide variety of employment law matters, including many age discrimination claims that often involve reductions-in-force, job elimination, or workforce restructuring. He also represents executives in connection with executive compensation, executive employment agreements, contracts, non-competition agreements, employment separation agreements, and executive severance agreements. Clients appreciate the high level of responsiveness and hands-on attention they receive from Mr. Glickman.

Mr. Glickman also provides advice and counsel in an array of employment law matters, from employment policies, preventative practices, compliance, risk-management, accommodation requests, and leaves of absence, to employee discipline, employment termination decisions, and troubleshooting in sticky employment situations. Mr. Glickman was admitted to practice in Illinois and the U.S. District Court in 1987, and the Federal Trial Bar and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit in 1989. He has served as an Arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois since 1995.

Mr. Glickman is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, the Chicago Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Committee, the National Employment Lawyers Association, and the National Employment Lawyers Association of Illinois.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1983, with a double major in History and Philosophy and a minor in English, and received his Juris Doctor degree from the DePaul University College of Law in 1987.

Married for 20+ years, Mr. Glickman resides in a suburban home with his wife and two teenage children.
