Personal Injury
Smestad Law understands that injuries occur, but when they occur because of someone else behaving negligently, we believe it is unjust to put the financial and personal burden on the victim. That is why we fight for just compensation for your injury.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

After suffering a severe injury himself, our founding attorney Adam Smestad suffered the effects of this injury for years. This experience gave Adam a clear understanding of what it means to suffer an injury, what it means to experience pain and suffering, and how an injury can impact one's life.
Further, throughout Adam's life, he has dealt with insurance company's and has experienced first hand their business model where profit takes priority over the people who purchase their policies.
These experiences gave rise to a passion to fight for the little guy, to fight for justice against the greed of the insurance companies, to fight for those who rely on promises and contracts signed by others who would break this trust, and to fight for just compensation for the pain, suffering, and impacts injuries can have on the lives of the injured.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

Adam Smestad, a graduate of DePaul University College of Law, has spent his entire career focused on representing injured parties and the survivors of those who passed away due to the negligence of others. In his practice, Adam has represented hundreds of clients and has obtained high six and seven figure settlements and verdicts in favor of his clients. He knows the law and he puts it to work for his clients.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Smestad Law focuses its practice on its clients. We tell our clients' stories and make sure we are available for our clients at all times. Unlike many larger firms, the attorneys at Smestad Law are always available to answer your questions and address your concerns, and we pride ourselves on keeping our clients informed and keeping their interests central to our work.
