Our firm has been practicing for over 22 years and as such we have found that bankruptcy practice was "only one tool in our tool belt" in the life cycle of the financial life of an individual or a company. No one really plans to go bankrupt! It is rather a "situation" in the making due to many factors during the life of that client. Some are lead into it through years of neglect and inattention to spending habits; other by sheer luck of taking unprepared risks. While others may have been victim of unscrupulous lenders or business partners. And finally there are those who have amassed mountainous debts due to a tragic accident, medical condition or health care expenses unchecked by the reality of the broken health system in our country. Whatever the reason, we recognized that no one, however prudent and intelligent, is immune from falling into a situation that may force them into bankruptcy. Fortunately, the Federal rules and laws have, over the years recognized those financial traps and have evolved to allow a system practiced to day to allow the client to "wipe out the slate" and get a fresh start in life. Having practiced litigation for over 22 years, I have concluded that the most humane area of practice of law is to see the hope shimmer again in the eyes of the client who has finally discharged the great burden of debt on his shoulder and looks to the future with a more positive way. That image alone prompted us to help as many clients in discharging their debt as possible to most professional and burdensome manner as possible.
I personally have worked as in house counsel for major insurance company's litigation unit right out of the law school 22 years ago. I have a bachelor of science if Business Administration with finance background from California State University Northridge; I have obtained and maintained the California Real Estate Broker's License since 2001; I have both litigated and defended debtors in variety of capacities, and finally have discharged debts of every client that I had ever represented under chapter7 or chapter 13 filings. I often consult businesses in re-orient their financial issues as to minimize their exposure and liability. I can comfortably say that representing bankruptcy client is most rewarding as the time frames from the initial consultation to the finality of discharge of debt is very rewarding for me.
I use the state of the art in technology in preparing and drafting of bankruptcy petitions and follow up schedules and giving attention to utmost detail is my forte. I also monitor the progress of each bankruptcy or any case constantly and communicate the same way with the client. Additionally, we have a simple yet sophisticated on-line system whereby my clients can get into our digital database and upload or receive up to the minute status or copies of their documents.
It is with this solid and consistent attention to details, such as discovery and treatment of all of the debts that can be discharged, along with maximizing the exemptions under the law which allows the clients to keep nearly everything under each relevant chapters. All of the work is done by lawyers and not by law clerks or paralegals. I take every case, no matter its size and complexity, very seriously and work diligently to discharge my duties as promised to the client, and as allowed by law. I also provide an in depth analysis of the client's matter in the first in person appointment, which usually lasts in excess of an hour.
