At the core of Rodgers and Garbow, PLLC, our attorneys are Mark Rodgers and Michael Garbow. Mark has practiced law for over 29 years in Bemidji. Throughout this time, he has represented hundreds of people who have been injured at work and in other settings. He is also a board member of the nationally known "Workers Injury Law and Advocacy Group.
Attorney Michael Garbow has a similar commitment to providing the highest quality legal services to each and every client of the firm.
Mark and Mike are supported by a highly professional staff that has many years of experience in dealing with injury litigation and the practice of law.
In 1981, Mark and Sally Rodgers moved to Bemidji. Mark worked in general private practice and also part-time as an assistant county attorney from 1981 to 1984. From 1984 to 1992, Mark continued in private practice emphasizing workers' compensation and personal injury as well as working part-time as assistant public defender for the 9th Judicial District of Minnesota. From 1993 to the present, Mark has limited his practice primarily to representing injured people who are attempting to collect fair compensation from insurance companies. (Mark also assists individuals when they seek to obtain Social Security Disability, Unemployment Compensation, and other employment-related benefits and rights.)
Mark is Minnesota's board member for the American Trial Lawyers' nationally known Worker's Compensation Injury Litigation and Advocacy Group (WILG). Mark is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Attorneys and the Minnesota and American Trial Lawyers Associations. He is licensed to practice in the Minnesota and United States Supreme Courts; the Eighth Circuit Court of the United States Court of Appeals; United States District Court for the State of Minnesota; and the Red Lake, Leech Lake, and White Earth Tribal Courts. Mark is also past president of the Beltrami County Bar Association.
Gustavus Adolphus College
Mark graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College (St. Peter, Minnesota) in 1978 and from the Northwestern School of Law/Lewis and Clark College (Portland, Oregon) in 1981.
Mike was originally born and raised in Bemidji, however, he and his family moved to Oklahoma in 1981. Mike graduated from Northeastern State University (Tahlequah, Oklahoma) in 1993, after serving four years in the United States Navy. In 1998, Mike graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law (Tulsa, Oklahoma).
Upon graduation from Law School, Mike moved back to the Bemidji area in 1998. Mike has served as a prosecutor for Beltrami County as well as previously serving as the Legal Director for the Leech Lake Bank of Ojibwe. Mike has been an adjunct professor for the Law Enforcement Program at the Leech Lake Tribal College for over 10 years. Mike is a well seasoned trial lawyer and experienced negotiator. Mike's legal experience combined with his solid work ethic, allows him to deliver solid results for his clients.
Mike is married to Jennifer Garbow and they have three children (Isaiah, Wakinyan, and Michaela). Jennifer is an Extension Educator for the University of Minnesota at Crookston, and they are both avid motorcyclists.
