How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I chose to work with bankruptcy law because I wanted the opportunity to help clients overcome any issues that they are dealing with that pertain to their finances. Debt can happen suddenly or it can happen over an extended period of time, but regardless of the circumstances that led to the debt, I wanted to help clients find solid ground to stand on once more.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I do not think a client should ever blindly enter into a bankruptcy without knowing what it is that they are facing. I therefore provide vast information on my website regarding various topics that could pertain to their case; I also encourage clients to either talk to me or independently seek answers so that they can be informed on their case.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

The more I know, the better I can serve my clients. I will therefore review all documents that I deem as helpful and will use the information provided to better equip me to serve my clients with high-quality legal assistance.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

In an initial case evaluation, I will discuss all possible options with a client so that we can evaluate the situation and determine the best way in which I will be able to assist.

Rick Hodge

I have spent the majority of my career dealing with bankruptcy law - I therefore have a clear focus and understanding of all of the different aspects that are entered into this type of legal procedure.

My extensive experience in bankruptcy law has provided me with the knowledge that I can use to directly benefit my clients. I know the steps that will be best-suited for helping my clients and I will vigorously pursue them. Bankruptcy is confusing, especially for someone who has never been forced to deal with it before and I wanted to be there to provide my clients with the answers that they require. By giving clients the benefit of my knowledge, I am able to help them seek their desirable outcome.

I am meticulous in my approach and have an eye for details. Success in bankruptcy is often found by exhaustively going through each detail of the case and I therefore do everything that I can to address each and every nuance. I understand that the better that I handle a case from the very beginning, the better chance my client has at going through the process painlessly and effectively.

Personal interests:

I am personally interested in handling law and expanding my knowledge regarding bankruptcy. The more that I invest myself into my practice, the more that my clients will benefit and I therefore do everything that I can to continually better myself as a lawyer.
