Experienced in defending against felony & misdemeanor charges, including OWI, drugs, and sex crimes.
A solo practitioner charging reasonable fees to help people who do not qualify for free legal service, but have limited funds available.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

The government against one woman or man is a tough fight. I try to even the odds.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others?

I have a lot of varied life experience, having worked with my hands and with my mind in business, agriculture, and government. Whatever your situation, I have probably known other people in a similar one.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

I see this as a service occupation. I will only take your case if I think I can give you worthwhile value.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The more a client understands her legal situation, the better I like it. However, if you hire me, please do plan to listen to the analysis I offer of your case, even if it's not what you thought it should be.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Yes, for a small consultation fee.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Yes, I take family law cases without fee, through Legal Aid District 11, and serve in a monthly legal clinic in Bloomington through Disrtrict 10 Pro Bono.

Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Yes, if it appears to me to be practical in the particular case. It will not often be true in criminal cases, however.
