Kurtis B. Reeg is the President and Managing Partner of Reeg Lawyers, LLC, with offices in St. Louis and Northeast Missouri and Wichita, Kansas. For more than 30 years, Kurt has focused his litigation and appellate practice in the fields of toxic and mass torts/class actions, products liability, complex insurance coverage, environmental law, agriculture and farm law, and alternative dispute resolution. He has represented clients in over 20 states before their state and federal courts and has served as National and Regional Coordinating Counsel for various clients.
Kurt has been involved in several landmark insurance and toxic tort cases, including:
-The W.R. Grace nationwide asbestos insurance coverage litigation in the federal courts of New York, in which he prevailed in the U.S. District Court and Second Circuit Court of Appeals;
-The ground-breaking and massive Minnesota Landfill direct action case against the insurance industry, State of Minnesota v. Allstate Insurance Co., et al.;
-The nationwide Burlington Northern noise-induced hearing loss insurance coverage cases in St. Clair County, Illinois; and
-The massive, 10-year Atrazine herbicide class action litigation in the Madison County, Illinois, state court and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
Kurt also has an active agriculture law practice. He is legal counsel to and associates with various agriculture and animal trade groups and associations, and regularly represents cervid and exotics breeders/preserve owners, equine owners, and commercial dog breeders in legal disputes with various local, state and federal governmental entities.
Kurt has received numerous accolades throughout his career. He has received the highest possible skill and ethics ratings of AV from his attorney peers and is listed in Martindale-Hubbell's Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers in the fields of toxic torts, insurance, and products liability. In 2012, he was selected for inclusion in Corporate Counsel magazine and The American Lawyer as one of the top-rated mass tort litigators in the nation. Kurt was awarded the Andrew C. Hecker Award in 2001 for the most outstanding article in the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel Quarterly.
