Our firm traces its roots to the law practice of John Frank Reed, who was admitted to practice on September 14, 1887. John Frank Reed was succeeded by his son Harold F. Reed in 1913, and his grandson Harold F. Reed Jr. in 1951.

Harold F. Reed, Jr., Esquire

Harold F. Reed, Jr., resides in Brighton Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and is a third generation lawyer in the practice of law in Beaver. Mr. Reed is a graduate of Mercersburg Academy, Princeton University (Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, 1948) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (J.D., 1951). Mr. Reed concentrates his practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Estate Administration, Residential and Commercial Real Estate, Local Government, and Commercial Property Tax Assessment Appeals, having been trial counsel for the case which set the standards for the assessment of industrial establishments in Pennsylvania, Jones and Laughlin Tax Assessment Case 405 Pa. 421 (1961).
Mr. Reed has years of experience as trial counsel for many litigants and he is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has represented the Townships of Brighton and Darlington for over 50 years. Mr. Reed is a member of the Beaver County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, having served as President of the Beaver County Bar Association in 1977. He has also served as President of the Beaver Trust Company and as General Counsel of Tuscarora Plastics, Inc.

James C. Tosh

James C. Tosh has practiced law in Beaver County for over 40 years, concentrating his practice in the areas of Probate, Estate Planning and Administration, Fiduciary Law, Real Estate Law, Commercial and Corporate Law. Mr. Tosh has represented numerous public and private companies and administrators of estates. He prides himself on excellent client service, and strives to handle his clients' matters promptly, efficiently, and with integrity.

Mr. Tosh is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Beaver County Bar Association, and most recently served as President of the Beaver County Bar Association in 2008 and 2009. He is currently President of Beaver County Children's Home and of the Beaver County Symphonic Wind Ensemble and serves on the Local Board of the American Red Cross. He has served as a Solicitor of the Beaver Medical Center, Beaver Area School District, Century National Bank and Trust Company, McGuire Memorial Foundation, and the Merrick Art Gallery. Mr. Tosh is admitted to practice before the Lower and Appellate Courts of Pennsylvania, including both the Commonwealth and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania. He is also admitted to appear before the U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Tosh spends his leisure time playing golf, playing timpani in various orchestras, and spending time with his wife, three daughters, and seven grandchildren.

Dennis F. Wolford

Dennis F. Wolford joined the firm as a member in 1994. He began his career as a trial lawyer in 1976 after graduating cum laude from the Ohio State University College of Law. Since that time, he has been in private practice as a civil trial lawyer with over 30 years experience representing individuals and corporations in a wide variety of areas, including personal injury and property damage claims, commercial and industrial disputes, and liability insurance issues.

For more than 20 years, Mr. Wolford has successfully defended numerous corporations in thousands of asbestos-related claims throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Kentucky.

In addition to his active trial practice, Mr. Wolford also represents individuals and small businesses in real estate, business, and estate matters.

Gregory K. Douglass

Gregory K. Douglass, Esq. is a native of North Sewickley Township in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Douglass received his Batchelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Dickinson College in 1974 and his Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Santa Clara in 1977. Mr. Douglass was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court in 1978, and the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals in 1985. Mr. Douglass is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Beaver County Bar Association. Mr. Douglass has coached a Beaver County Mock Trial team for ten (10) years.

Mr. Douglass concentrates his practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Estate Administration, Local Government, Real Estate, Commercial Transactions and Civil Litigation. Mr. Douglass represents three Municipal Authorities, two Zoning Hearing Boards and the Township of Franklin. Kathryn L. Johnston

Ms. Johnston's practice is varied to best represent her clients, both businesses and individuals. Her practice areas include municipal law, environmental, toxic and mass torts including asbestos litigation, personal and product liability, corporations, probate, real estate including condominiums, and adoption.

Ms. Johnston represents a township planning commission, and assists members of the firm with representation of other municipalities and local government entities. She is passionate about planning and has been a member of both township and county greenways and recreation planning committees, a participant in pedestrian and bicycle studies, and a writer of grants for trail development. Ms. Johnston represents corporations in product liability actions providing legal counseling in all levels of litigation practice, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and trial. She has litigated and argued cases before trial courts in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Ms. Johnston also provides legal counsel to corporations, both profit and non-profit, represents clients in estate matters, including probate, and advises businesses and individuals on real estate matters, including the preparation of condominium documents.

Ms. Johnston represents clients in all aspects of the adoption process, including termination of parental rights, involuntary termination of parental rights hearings, confirming consent hearings, step-parent and grandparent adoptions, and interstate and international adoptions.
