My firm was established in 2004. I enjoy having my own firm and I believe for specializing in bankruptcy that a small firm can help keep the clients' costs down. This is especially important in the area of bankruptcy.

It is a small firm that gives very specialized treatment to everyone. A lot of larger firms can be impersonal, but my practice gives very personalized assistance. Having a very specialized practice means that I know a lot about the bankruptcy area since it's the main area I work in.

Example cases

During the course of having my practice, I've been able to save a client's home from foreclosure and the nicest part is that despite clients arriving in extreme stress and often sadness, once we've achieved the end result, it's always great to notice a weight lifted from the clients' back.

Services Offered For Fixed Fees?

For chapter 7 it's normally a fairly fixed price of $1,200. Chapter 13 varies, but it is normally around $2,400.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Bankruptcy is an area where almost everybody can come out at a better place than when they arrived to seek help. There are definite solutions to reach for which better the lives of clients in the end.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It's harder and harder in bankruptcy these days for a client to handle these matters by his or herself. I have also helped clients who started their own bankruptcy cases, but began to experience problems in terms of the volume and complexity of the matters at hand.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I do have the possibility of allowing clients to enter their information into forms and I can lower the price of services accordingly. I have a specific form online for this purpose.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

This tends to be a considerably complicated matter. I have occasionally done a basic consult with clients, but beyond that it can turn into an ethical problem; it depends on the case and the amount of time spent consulting.

I worked in human resources for a couple of major companies as a human resource manager prior to going to law school. After law school, I worked for Davis, Bennington and Brown, where I was a partner for approximately three years.

My work experience as a human resource manager makes me more aware of how to address clients and their problems on a human level. Being a parent of two children allows me to have a lifestyle which lends itself to better understanding the problems faced by clients.

My strengths are the personal service I give to every client and the fact that I'm not screened out by secretaries, so anyone can walk in the door and talk to me. My style is personable and inviting, which is a unique trait.

I like being involved in my sons' activities like soccer, basketball and track.
