Firm Overview

The Law Office of Priscilla Pelgen focuses on representing men in domestic issues in Indiana. If you are experiencing a domestic problem, before you negotiate with your wife or ex, appear in court, or hire an attorney, first, get our free books, CDs and information packages about your case situation. An educated litigant is much more likely to evaluate and make decisions which maximize their best case position.

The Law Office of Priscilla Pelgen was established in 2009.

Example cases

A husband came to me after being served with divorce papers. His wife desired sole custody of the children, a large amount of child support, limited parenting time, attorney's fees, and no contribution on the marital debt. The husband received joint custody of the children; a reasonable amount of child support established, liberal parenting time, and the wife paid her own attorney fees, and contributed a fair portion to the marital debt.

A father came to me after receiving a motion to modify child support. After calculating the amount of the increase, it did not make sense to charge the father attorney's fees defending the motion. Instead, the father opted for self-service forms and legal education coaching to represent himself. Father reported a successful outcome consistent with the calculations and education.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

A combination of my own life experience, and my law practice experience.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

A Great Defense BEGINS with A Good Offense, and Offense begins with education and preparation. We do not accept clients who refuse to be proactive in their case. Too often, men are forced to make decisions without understanding their full impact, both now and future. Men need quality information before negotiating with their ex, appearing in court, or hiring an attorney. Through the publication of books, CDs and DVDs, together with webinars, teleconferences, podcasts and videos, I educate men about their legal situations before they negotiate with their ex or hire an attorney. There are cases in which men do not need an attorney, or where they do not need an attorney now. But, those decisions cannot be made without educating yourself first.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes. Indiana lawyers are required to comply with professional rules of conduct to maintain their licensure. This office imposes restrictions upon this service consistent with maintaining compliance with those rules.

Priscilla B. Pelgen

I was a litigation paralegal, then went to undergraduate and graduate school and later became an attorney. In addition, I ran a print shop until the law firm was established.

I have experienced and triumphed over personal and professional challenges. I know how to advise and guide someone to overcoming their obstacles successfully. I put myself through undergrad and law school while raising my four children. I conceived, designed, built, and organized my law practice, both physically and intellectually. I'm also a business consultant to small businesses and new lawyers. All of these factors, plus my love of what I do, help make me a better lawyer.

I am a no nonsense person with a strong belief in hard work and a positive attitude.

Personal interests:

My interests include my family, friends, bodybuilding and nutrition, horses, music, anything sci-fi, Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Halo, riding my motorcycle, and my Chihuahua's.
