Jimmie P. Price

For over forty one years the firm’s founder, Jimmie P. Price, has practiced family law and criminal defense in Montgomery and surrounding counties. He earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1979. His extensive experience and litigation skills allow him to effectively advocate and negotiate on behalf of his clients. His practice expertise includes successful negotiation and litigation of complex divorce cases involving contested property division and child custody issues, as well as representation of the accused in major felony crimes and serious offenses. Jimmie is board certified in both Family Law (1986) and Criminal Law (1987) by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Jimmie is also a licensed mediator.

Less than ten percent of Texas attorneys are board certified in even one subject. Board certification demonstrates a commitment to the practice area and requires substantial, relevant experience in the field and specialized competence in a particular area of law. He has also been selected as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine in the practice area of family law and has received this prestigious honor each year since 2003. This selection process includes peer nominations, a panel review process and independent research on the candidates. Only five percent of Texas attorneys receive this honor each year. He has also been recognized as a Top Lawyer by H Texas Magazine each year since 2003. Jimmie met his wife and law partner, Gina A. Price, when they were just five years old. They have been married for over 43 years and have two beautiful daughters. As a devoted family man, he appreciates the far-reaching implications of the marital relationship and strives to minimize the negative effects of a divorce and contested custody process for his clients. His extensive courtroom experience has allowed him to zealously represent defendants in several capital murder cases in addition to a wide-range of criminal defense work, including serious felonies, misdemeanors and juvenile law. Jimmie is active in state and national organizations established to further the practice of law, is a past-president of the Montgomery County Bar Association and currently serving as a Director of the Woodlands Bar Association.

Jason Kercheval

Jason was born and raised in the greater Houston area. Before graduating from Klein Forest High School in 1998, he earned an appointment and full scholarship to the United States Naval Academy. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and was commissioned as an ensign in the United States Navy in 2002. After serving for three years active duty as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy, Jason returned to Houston to attend law school at South Texas College of Law-Houston.

While at South Texas College of Law-Houston, Jason was one of only 12 students chosen from his class to represent the nationally acclaimed South Texas College of Law Advocacy program and became a travelling Mock Trial Advocate. South Texas was, and continues to be, the #1 ranked trial advocacy school in the nation. After being chosen multiple times as a top-10 Mock Trial Advocate, his final year in law school was culminated when he received the “John O’Quinn Heart of an Advocate” award.

After his success in law school, Jason again chose to serve his country by becoming a Judge Advocate with the Texas Army National Guard. As a JAG in the National Guard, he was employed as the Trial Defense Services (TDS) Trial Attorney. His duties there allowed him the privilege of defending Soldiers from all over the state of Texas who were charged with wrongdoing under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and under the Texas Code of Military Justice.

In 2013, at the end of his service in the National Guard, Jason founded The Kercheval Law Firm. His firm primarily represented clients in Criminal, Family, and Probate cases in Montgomery, Harris, and Grimes Counties. In 2017, Jason left the firm to join Price & Price and focus his attention solely on Family Law.

Jason met his wife, Jaime, at South Texas College of Law. In 2015 they were married, and Jaime joined The Kercheval Law Firm as a partner. She continues the practice on her own, which is now primarily focused on Wills, Probate, and Estate Planning in Montgomery County.

In 2017, Jason and Jaime became the proud parents of a baby girl they named Jenevieve. As a father and oldest of four siblings, he knows how vital family is; especially how important a client’s family and their children are to them. When a client needs a divorce or representation on another family law matter, he will fight for their rights and do whatever it takes to help them continue the close relationship with their children that is so paramount.

Price & Price, Attorneys at Law
Jimmie P.
