How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Personal Injury & Business Litigation:

Helping people when they most need me in times of injuries-great or small-and helping people in their business problems (and people are "behind" every business-great or small) is what I have a passion for and truly enjoy. It makes me happy to know I have the power to potentially make people's lives and situations somewhat better and, sometimes, much better for having worked hard on their matters with zealous passion, integrity and trust.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

Practicing for over a decade and intense work and education and a background prior to law school sets me apart. I truly strive to work diligently and with honor when representing any client.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

My true passion, integrity and trust. I can empathize with my client and truly understand them and their situations. I do my best to "right" the "wrongs" that have befallen them and am truly honored to so do.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I try my best to educate my clients--I even write a blog at least weekly on various topics. I often e-mail my clients articles I, personally, have written to answer their questions in depth. It's easy for me to understand issues with my training, background and experience but I truly understand that my clients only deal with such issues perhaps one time (hopefully) in their lives so education is critical for them.

I also--very unusually--offer my personal cell phone to my clients for critical questions and "off" hours to ease their concerns. Each one of my clients has my cell phone.

Recently, I even provided citations to state laws and cases to a client to fully comprehend drunk driving and traffic ticket issues in relation to a car accident to fully explain rules of evidence. The client truly appreciated how far and "above and beyond" I went to explain the law in so much detail. Again, I was honored to do so just as I am with every aspect of representing any client.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Absolutely! My clients often want to show me what they have prepared and most of the time, even if the documents do not meet "legal standards," the facts in the documents are critical assistance to their matters.

I welcome any and all information from my clients as sometimes the most minor detail can "make or break" a case!

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Lawyers cannot really "coach" people as it is considered "advice" and our ethical and professional responsibilities would command we simply represent people rather than "coach" them to go completely "on their own." Often, we represent people in injury actions on a "contingency basis" which means clients do not pay unless we win so clients do themselves a potential disfavor in trying to represent themselves when an experienced attorney could represent them on such basis.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

As often as reasonably possible for various reasons and only under certain facts, circumstances and situations:

a. More efficient;

b. Resolves cases more quickly;

c. In some cases, it is required (arbitration in Cook County, Illinois for cases in certain divisions are required to go through arbitration);

d. Some Judges can order cases be sent to "court-annexed" mediation;

e. Some types of cases are required to proceed to arbitration such as uninsured and underinsured motorist claims; and

f. If the parties are in agreement to proceed in this manner, it may obtain not only results quickly and efficiently and at less cost but also can bring true "peace" to situations for all.

What are your firm's strengths and style?

Truly the passion and integrity and trust aspects of everything we do. It is not just a "motto" but what Philip and his colleagues live by daily. We must--or our integrity would be questioned if even the slightest issues are not handled in such manner.

Besides truly following our motto, Philip really listens to his clients concerns and worries. Being injured or suffering damages in relation to any incident is life-altering. Philip understands that first hand from various experiences with family and friends and due to handling numerous cases for over a decade. Philip understands that sometimes health insurance issues are an issue, job loss and lost wages can create a "domino-effect" on people's lives and create other problems financially and with relationships, a simple broken-down car from an accident can wreak havoc on your daily life and Philip often helps people immediately obtain rental cars to "keep them moving."

Philip's "style" is to fight aggressively for his clients and to try to keep his clients educated on various topics as well. He is always available via his personal cell phone in emergencies too!
