Mr. Davis was born in Lexington, North Carolina, on October 8, 1917. He attended Young Harris Junior College and transferred to Emory University where he graduated in 1941 with an L.L.B. Later that year he was admitted to the Georgia Bar.

He served as a Representative to the General Assembly of Georgia from 1949-1950, as President of the Albany Bar Association from 1949-1950 and again in 1975, and as Vice President of the Albany Bar Association in 1950. He was elected Mayor of the City of Albany serving from 1964-1967. He also served as City Attorney for the City of Albany for 23 years (1968-1991). Mr. Davis represented the Albany Department of Community Development from its inception until he retired as City Attorney. During that period he structured numerous real estate transactions, negotiated contracts for the department, and interpreted HUD Rules and Regulations to ensure compliance by the department. He also represented the Albany Water, Gas and Light Commission for 25 years (1968-1993).

In addition to his practice, Davis is also a published author of two books of poetry, "Trickles From a Dry Well" and "Late Harvest."

James E. "Jay" Reynolds, Jr., a partner in the firm, primarily works in the area of wills, trust, estate planning and administration, taxation and transactional law, such as the purchase and sale of businesses and other major assets. He has spoken on such various legal topics from time to time, including presentations as a part of seminars conducted through the Georgia Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education Programs.

Mr. Reynolds is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and has been listed multiple times in both Best Lawyers in America and as a Georgia Super Lawyer. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1970 and the State Bar of Florida in 1972 and is a member of the American Bar Association (section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law). He served for seven years as a Member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia, is a past president of the Dougherty Circuit Bar Association and the Albany Estate Planning Council and has served as a member of the Emory University Law School Council.

Following graduation from law school, Mr. Reynolds moved to Albany where he joined the Perry and Walters group. He has since been active in civic affairs, including The Albany Museum of Art, The Harold and Sara Wetherbee Foundation and The James M. Barnett Jr. Foundation. He has also served on the boards of and participated in many local civic organizations, such as the American Red Cross, the Thronateeska Heritage Museum, United Way, the Sertoma Club and the Albany Rotary Club.

Mr. Reynolds and his wife, Pam, have been active members of St. Paul's Episcopal Church (including terms on the Church Vestry and as Senior Warden and he serves as a Trustee of the Church's Endowment Fund). In 1992, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds participated in establishing a YoungLife chapter in the Albany/Leesburg, Georgia area and they have recently begun to again serve on the YoungLife Committee.
