Joseph Esry


Joseph joined Parman & Easterday in 2017. He is serving the estate, business, and tax planning needs of clients in Kansas City. Joseph is dedicated to helping families establish estate plans tailored to the needs of each individual, helping people minimize taxes, avoid probate, and prepare for the possibility of future disability or incapacity. He also helps the entrepreneur start, maintain, and continue their business and prepare for the eventual transfer of that business - either through sale or by transfer to family members.

Joseph started his law career in an appellate practice law firm where he spent time his time researching the law and preparing briefs on complex legal issues. While there, he prepared his first estate plans and started probating cases. Joseph then spent several years working at a larger law firm doing real estate litigation on behalf of Fortune 500 companies. In that position, he continued honing his estate planning skills by preparing wills & trusts and probating estates.

Joseph earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri - Kansas City, while also earning his M.B.A. in finance and his LL.M. in taxation. He completed his undergraduate studies at Dordt College where he studied political science and business.

Joseph is a resident of the Kansas City area. Both he and his wife, Rachel, were born and raised in Kansas City. Joseph and Rachel welcomed their first child, Elizabeth, in 2017. He, his wife, and his daughter are all Royals fans. Joseph is active in Boy Scouts, enjoys playing soccer, and is a Deacon at Grace Fellowship church.

Jeff Easterday

Jeffrey Easterday has been serving the estate and tax planning needs of clients in the Kansas City area for nearly two decades. In 1995, he affiliated his law practice with that of Parman & Associates, one of the Midwest's leading estate planning law firms. His goal is to help the firm's clients preserve their wealth by avoiding probate, minimizing taxes, and protecting them if they ever become incapacitated, thereby insuring they are never a burden to their families.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Easterday frequently presents public and private group seminars on estate planning and asset protection topics.

Mr. Easterday developed his strong background in estate planning and taxation through his association with Arthur Andersen & Company as staff tax accountant and as a partner in two Kansas City law firms. During this time, he expanded his experience to include corporate and real estate law.

He established his own practice in 1985. The firm is a charter member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. In Addition, Mr. Easterday has been awarded the designation of "Fellow" by the American Academy recognizing the breadth of his experience in the estate planning field. Mr. Easterday is co-author of Estate Planning Basics: A Crash Course in Safeguarding Your Legacy.

Mr. Easterday earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of Kansas in 1975. He also completed his undergraduate work in business administration and accounting with distinction at the University of Kansas.

Mr. Easterday, a resident of the Kansas City metropolitan area, is married and the father of three children. He served the Kansas City Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association as board member and officer and served as a member of the board of directors of the Johnson County 3 & 2 Baseball Club.
