How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?
The escalating filing of consumer bankruptcies annually for nearly a decade raised my attention to the demand for quality service in bankruptcy. This made me interested in helping people seek this kind of relief.
What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I encourage clients to research the types of bankruptcy relief available to them before meeting an attorney. It is important for clients to seek information on the knowledgeability and experience of law firms in the area.
Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?
We are definitely willing to review documents. We will comment on them and provide our professional input.
Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
Yes, although it is rarely the best situation for the client.

I worked as a law clerk in the Judges Division of Toledo Municipal Court while a law student.
I have extensive training as both a creditor's and debtor's attorney. As a result, I know how banks and credit card companies think. These attributes make me a better lawyer for my debtor clients.
I am very hands-on, directive and aggressive. Many attorneys are too afraid to roll up their sleeves and provide meaningful advice to their clients. They answer clients' questions about the law, but don't really give them advice. I think that is a disservice to clients. I am "old school." I believe clients are coming to me for advice and guidance and because I am an expert in solving their specific problems. I am committed to providing them with expert advice and thoughtful and aggressive legal representation.
Personal interests: I have been a member at Emmanuel Baptist Church since 1983 and am an avid Toledo Rockets sports enthusiast and football season ticket holder. I travel far and wide across the United States to support my team.
