Jossie S. Norminton
Tom Norminton was born in Los Angeles, California, and has practiced civil litigation since 1973. He graduated magna cum laude in 1970 from UCLA where he was the Student Body President, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and the designated Most Outstanding Senior of his class. He received his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall), and began his legal career at Kaplan, Livingston, Goodwin, Berkowitz & Selvin.
Mr. Norminton served for nine years as a trustee of the UCLA Foundation, and was Vice-President of the UCLA Alumni Association. He has lectured to State Bar members for MCLE credit.
Since 1973, Mr. Norminton has handled a wide variety of cases in state and federal courts, with significant work performed in the areas of copyright infringement, bank and lender liability, employer vs. employee, entertainment, landlord-tenant disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, partner vs. partner, real estate purchase and sale disputes, textile and apparel manufacturing, trademark infringement, and unfair competition.
Douglas P. Wiita
Mr. Wiita was born and raised in Whittier, California. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of New Mexico in 1968. After graduating, Doug was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, where he served six years as a fighter pilot. Upon leaving the Corps, he earned his law degree from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, where he was the Editor in Chief of the law review and was selected as the "Outstanding Graduate" of his class.
Mr. Wiita has done volunteer work for the International Rescue Committee, an international relief organization founded by Albert Einstein. He also served six years as a member of the Board of Directors of his law school alumni association.
Mr. Wiita received his law degree in 1977, and has practiced in the field of business and commercial litigation ever since. He has successfully litigated countless cases, from initiation through trials and appeals, in the state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, in areas such as real estate, bank and lender liability, employment law, landlord-tenant, partnership disputes, trademark infringement, and unfair competition.
Kathleen Dority Fuster
Kathleen Dority Fuster was born in New York City. She has practiced civil litigation since 1985. Ms. Fuster graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University, New Jersey in 1982, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her juris doctor, cum laude, in 1985 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she was a legal writing instructor and Arthur Littleton Scholar. She was also selected to be a member of the Order of the Coif.
Ms. Fuster was admitted to the California Bar in 1985 and is admitted to practice in all of the California state courts. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Central District of California, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Ms. Fuster began her legal career at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton in Los Angeles, California. Since that time, she has successfully litigated hundreds of business lawsuits, including commercial, collection, contract, business torts, real estate and partnership matters. She has negotiated and documented numerous settlements. She has provided general legal advice to businesses, and negotiated and documented a wide variety of business transactions.
Catherine Campbell Beatty
Catherine Campbell Beatty was born in Los Angeles. She has practiced law since 1994. Ms. Beatty graduated from UCLA in 1984 with a degree in Economics. She worked in banking and finance as an Assistant Vice President for many years at Union Bank, before attending law school.
Ms. Beatty received her juris doctor in 1994 from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where she was on the Dean's Honor List. She is admitted to practice in all of the California state courts and the United States District Court, Central District of California.
Ms. Beatty's practice now is primarily business litigation. She has significant appellate experience and was appointed a panel attorney for the California Appellate Project. She was the lead attorney in a prominent lawsuit, involving dozens of parties and leading to changes in California state laws regarding health insurance. Ms. Beatty has been invited to speak on various news programs, including Nightline, ABC World News, CBS Evening News, MSNBC, Good Morning America, local Los Angeles news stations, and the BBC.
