We also know that every case requires lawyers with expansive, relevant experience. Our attorneys, including two former prosecutors, have over 45 years of courtroom experience. During this time, they have tried over 200 civil and criminal jury trials, and over 35 cases in the Appellate Courts.

Our attorneys have been recognized as Influential Appellate Advocates in 2015 by Missouri Lawyers Weekly, and were recipients of the Lon O. Hocker Trial Advocacy Award in 2016.

Our trial and appellate trial practice is dedicated to representing injured people and their families throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area and western Missouri, including Clay County, Liberty, Blue Springs, Independence, and Gladstone.

Douglass Noland

Douglass F. Noland is a lifelong resident of Clay County, Missouri. He graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, and from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

Douglass is admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas. He is admitted to practice before the Federal Courts in Missouri and Kansas, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Douglass is an Adjunct Professor in Trial Advocacy at UMKC School of Law, and was an Adjunct Professor at William Jewell College.

Douglass served as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Clay County and was the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. He has also served as a Special Prosecuting Attorney.

Douglass received the Clay County Bar Association Distinguished Attorney Award in 2008.

Douglass is Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a member of the Million Dollar Advocacy Forum, the Missouri Bar Board of Governors, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys Board of Governors, and has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He was awarded Missouri Lawyers Weekly 2015 Influential Appellate Advocate.

Kate Noland

Kate graduated from William Jewell College with a B.A. in Political Science and Organizational Communication. She graduated from University of Missouri Columbia Law School with the honor of Order of the Coif, and was on the Missouri Law Review and Moot Court team. After law school, Kate clerked for Missouri Supreme Court Judge William Ray Price. Kate was a prosecutor for six years, one year with the Missouri Attorney General's Office and five years with the Clay County Prosecutor's Office.

Kate is an adjunct professor of constitutional law at William Jewell College. She was a member of the 2010-2011 Missouri Bar Leadership Academy and has served on the Missouri Bar's YLS Council since 2012.

Jennifer Wettstein

Jennifer N. Wettstein graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa with a Bachelor's of Art in Journalism and Mass Communications and a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration. After working for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for two years, Jennifer went onto attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate Degree. Jennifer is admitted to practice in the State of Missouri, the State of Kansas, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. She is a member of the 2014-2015 Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Bar Leadership Academy and a member of the Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City.
