Firm Overview

Bigger is not always better, especially when it comes to finding solutions to your legal problems. Look no further than the big national companies that advertise tax resolution services, tossing out phrases like "pennies on the dollar" and "we'll fight the IRS." What they fail to mention is that they are not lawyers and they are not local.

We are located right here in Toledo, Ohio, and take a personal interest in resolving the tax issues and other legal problems facing our neighbors in Lucas County and surrounding communities.

Mark Mockensturm Esq., CPA

Owner - Mockensturm Limited since June 1, 1999

Location: Toledo, Ohio

Mark Mockensturm founded Mockensturm Limited in 1999. After graduating from law school in 1993, he worked for several firms in the Toledo area that specialize in employment litigation and real estate transactions. During that time people who learned of his training as a CPA sought his advice in their dealings with the IRS and other tax authorities. He was often able to help these people resolve their issues quickly and favorably. So in late 1999, Mark decided to offer his help to a list of people who recently received notice of IRS liens filings. The response was overwhelming and Mark soon found there was more work than he could handle on a part-time basis. Starting with one secretary, he left his employer and moved into a building he purchased with a friend in downtown Toledo. Within a couple of years, the practice outgrew that location and he moved to his current location on Adams Street.

Mark believes that his success is due in large part to the excellent rapport he has built with IRS and other tax agencies. He and his staff have built a reputation as effective and responsive representatives and this has earned him trust and cooperation from local tax authorities. However, those authorities also know that he and his employees will not hesitate to use every tool at their disposal to diligently represent their clients. There is no hesitation to use all available avenues of appeal, including litigation in US Tax Court and Ohio Appellate Court if necessary.

Because of his success in tax representations, many of Mark's clients return for other legal services. Mark soon found that he needed additional legal staff to handle a range of other legal matters, including business transactions, real estate, estate planning and many other financially relevant legal issues. Because he and his associates have a deep understanding of many economic issues, his firm soon earned the reputation as effective financial problem solvers. This skill set was also well suited to bankruptcy related matters so in 2011 Joshua Driskell joined the firm to head up the bankruptcy and consumer rights division of the firm.

As his practice has grown, Mark spends much of his time meeting and advising new clients and overseeing the work of his excellent staff. He considers himself extremely lucky to have brought together a group of smart, hardworking people who truly care about his clients and work together as team. This approach ensures that all possible avenues of representation are thoroughly explored and the best, most cost-effective plan is implemented.
