At Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook (CMS&C), we are plaintiffs' lawyers. Stan Casper

Stan Casper graduated from Boalt Hall, University of California, Berkeley in 1973. He was admitted to the California State and Federal Bars the same year, and to the U. S. Supreme Court in 1977. Mr. Casper is a past President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association and is Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He was formally an instructor in "Trial Practice" at Boalt Hall and continues to lecture to practicing attorneys. He is a founding partner of Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook.

Michael Meadows

Michael Meadows is a trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience in complex litigation. Mr. Meadows specializes in litigating serious injury cases. He acted as co-lead counsel in a toxic tort case which resulted in an $80 million settlement. A graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1974, Mr. Meadows was admitted to the Bar in the same year. He served on the Board of Governors of the Alameda/Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association and the Consumer Attorneys of California. Mr. Meadows has been selected to the Northern California Super Lawyers since 2004. He is a continuing legal education lecturer.

Andrew Schwartz

Mr. Schwartz has been practicing law in Contra Costa County for 39 years. He is board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He was lead trial counsel in the case of Singh v. City of Gilroy, which recently resulted in a successful jury verdict. A graduate of the University of San Francisco (J.D.) in 1975, Mr. Schwartz was admitted to the California and Federal Bars the same year and to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1979. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of both the Contra Costa County Legal Services Foundation and the Alameda/Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association, and is Chairman of the Contra Costa Superior Court's ADR Committee. Andrew Schwartz is an AV Rated lawyer who is consistently selected to the Northern California Super Lawyers.

Larry Cook

Larry Cook is a partner of Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook, where he has been a trial lawyer for 27 years. Mr. Cook holds an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell which is the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards. Mr. Cook represents plaintiffs exclusively in serious personal injury cases. Particular areas of emphasis include traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, medical mal practice, products liability, construction accidents, elder abuse, automobile accidents, boating accidents, defective products and wrongful death. Mr. Cook has successfully represented tenants in large-scale toxic mold exposure litigation. He is a leader in the legal community both as a litigator and as a contributor to the local bar association. He was the 2009 President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, past president of the Contra Costa Barrister's Association and former Board member of the Contra Costa Legal Services Foundation. He holds membership with the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and the Alameda Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association (ACCTLA). Nick Casper

As an associate with Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook since 2007, Nick Casper has been actively involved in litigating many of the firm's largest cases involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, employment discrimination/harassment, civil rights violations, and child sexual abuse. Nick has also taken several of the firm's cases to jury trial. In 2013, he obtained a $317,000 verdict as lead counsel in a jury trial of a dangerous condition of public property case in Alameda County.

Nick is the 2015 Board President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, and has served on the Board of Directors of the CCCBA since 2011. Nick was also the Chair of the Contra Costa Barristers for two years. He is on the Board of Governors of the Alameda-Contra Costa Trial Lawyers' Association, and is involved with the New Lawyers Division of Consumer Attorneys of California.

Nick received his undergraduate education from the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2001. He attended the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he was awarded the CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Research & Writing, as well as Best Oral Argument in Moot Court. Mr. Casper also worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Mark Simons of California's First District Court of Appeal.

Barbara Rose Smith

Ms. Smith specializes in legal writing involving complex plaintiffs' litigation in the practice areas of serious personal injury, civil rights, and employment discrimination. Ms. Smith also has a background in complex business litigation. Ms. Smith has practiced at Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady & Falk in San Francisco, California, and Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ms. Smith has worked as the Civil Litigation Program Attorney for the Continuing Education of the Bar, University of California, Berkeley, and was responsible for the civil litigation CLE curriculum. In addition to having clerked for federal district courts in the Northern District of California and Hawaii, Ms. Smith has clerked for the Iowa Supreme Court. Adam Carlson

Adam Carlson is an associate with the firm Casper, Meadows, Schwartz and Cook and brings years of litigation experience with him. He always handles his cases with a client first approach, aggressively and effectively advocating for the individuals he represents. He earned his law degree at the University of San Francisco School of Law and practiced for a number of years in the Alameda County Public Defender's Office.
