His article on the Virginia case, Gibson v. Commonwealth was published by the Justice System Journal, a peer-edited law journal sponsored by the National Center for State Courts. Monte's article, "Rethinking DUI Law in Virginia," was published in Vol. 42, Issue 2 of the University of Richmond Law Review. As an authority on Virginia law, Monte has been interviewed and quoted by the Virginia Lawyers Weekly newspaper and the Virginian Pilot with respect to landmark court cases on DUI law.
