How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Bankruptcy is a guaranteed right in the constitution. I firmly believe that everyone deserves a second chance to get their finances straightened out. With so many people currently out of work, the need for affordable, competent bankruptcy representation is greater now than ever. I am proud to play a part in filling that need in the community. It's a wonderful feeling to help someone shed the oppressive debt and get a fresh start in life.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I'm all for clients educating themselves! I firmly believe in educating and informing clients so that they can make sound decisions for themselves. An educated client generally leads to a more effective representation.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I'm always willing to review documents prepared by clients.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

No I am not willing to coach clients because I see this as a recipe for disaster. Bankruptcy has become far more complex in recent years. Mistakes in this area of the law can be very costly, so I'm generally not willing to do it half-way.

Lisa Mccue

Lisa Torelli McCue

I have been practicing law since 1995.

Coincidentally, I was a philosophy major in college before going to law school. Studying philosophy has given me the ability to look at all angles of a potential problem and to think "outside the box" when necessary in order to advance my clients' interests. Through vast amounts of reading, researching, and continuing legal education courses, I strive to keep current on the new laws.

Bankruptcy and foreclosure defense laws are in a constant state of flux. New judicial decisions in different districts, as well as bills recently passed or still pending in Congress, can have monumental impact on my clients' cases. I need to be thoroughly informed so I can provide the competent legal representation that my clients need and deserve.

My firm is approachable. No one ever feels judged or intimidated around me or my husband, Chris. We are naturally a compassionate people who are willing to go the extra mile for clients.

Personal interests:

My personal interests revolve around my two children. When it's Little League season, I'm the biggest baseball fan you've ever seen! It's all about the kids when I'm not working, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
