Jay Goodman

Jay Goodman is the Founder and Principal Shareholder in Jay Goodman & Associates Law Firm, P.C. Mr. Goodman has been practicing law for more than twenty-five years.


Mr. Goodman is licensed to practice law in New Mexico, Ohio, and Texas. He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United State District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the United States District Court of New Mexico, and the United Sates Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit.


Mr. Goodman received his Juris Doctor from the Capital University School of Law in Columbus, Ohio and completed his undergraduate training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1983.

Ms. Chappell has been practicing law for nearly 20 years. During this time she worked as Debtor's Counsel; Family Law: Father's Rights Advocate, and in the area of Domestic Violence, Medical Malpractice Attorney; Construction Litigator; Family Law Litigator; Debtor Representation in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico.


Ms. Chappell is licensed to practice law in New Mexico and Washington State. She is admitted to practice law before the New Mexico Supreme Court, The United States District Court for the District of New Mexico and The United State Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico.

Ms. Chappell received her Juris Doctor from University of Idaho College of Law in Moscow, Idaho and completed her undergraduate training at Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi (formerly Corpus Christi State University.)

Thomas Lane


Mr. Lane is licensed to practice law before the New Mexico State Courts and Federal Court, District of New Mexico.


Mr. Lane received his Bachelor of Arts in English/Pre-Law from New Mexico State University in 1980, and his Master of Arts in English/Writing from New Mexico State University in 1983. He received his Juris Doctor with Thesis Honors from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2003.

Areas of Legal Emphasis:

Mr. Lane primarily practices in the areas of contract enforcement, residential construction, professional licensing/malpractice, and family and domestic relations law. His experience in contract enforcement includes employment contracts, landlord/tenant law, and real estate purchase contracts, easements, protective covenants, and road maintenance agreements. His experience in family and domestic relations law includes divorces, child custody and support, guardianships, adoptions, and civil and criminal domestic violence.

Present and Former Memberships:

Mr. Lane is a member of the New Mexico Bar and the Federal Bar for the District of New Mexico. In his non-professional capacity, he is a member of Trout Unlimited, the Sierra Club, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. He was previously a member of the Advisory Committee of the World Wide Web Consortium, representing Los Alamos National Laboratory on the development of open Internet protocols such as HTML 4.0, XML 1.0, and PNG.

Awards and Recognitions:

Mr. Lane received Thesis Honors and awards from the American Bar Association and the Bureau of National Affairs for excellence in the study of intellectual property law for his paper, "Of Hammers and Saws: The Toolbox of Federalism and Sources of Law for the Web," which was published in the Winter 2003 volume of the New Mexico Law Review. In certain ways, he remains prouder that he was the lead editor of "Bartlett Revisited: New Mexico Tort Law Twenty Years after the Abolition of Joint and Several Liability -- Part One," by M.E. Occhialano, a co-author of the statute that established comparative fault in New Mexico. Mr. Lane also received a 1998 Distinguished Performance Award from Los Alamos National Laboratory for his contributions to the Network Firewall Team and the 1984 Robert A. Wichert Award for Creative Writing at New Mexico State University.

Prior Associations and Experience:

Mr. Lane's experience prior to law school includes five years of teaching at the university/college level, technical writing, co-management of a 15-employee software development business, and eight years in project development and team management at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He spent his junior year of high school as an exchange student at the Eckner Oberschule in Berlin, Germany. He continues to enjoy trips to Mexico and Europe. Mr. Lane has numerous prior publications, including the N.M. Law Review Comment mentioned above and more than 35 articles on Internet-related subjects at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Proudest Professional Moment:

Mr. Lane was a personal attorney for an Albuquerque Police Department Officer whose step-daughter had committed suicide at the age of 16 using his off-duty handgun. Mr. Lane's proudest professional moment was being part of the legal team that prevailed before the New Mexico Court of Appeals in defense of the policeman in a civil action. The family had lost their daughter and deserved no further punishment.

Latisha Frederick


Ms. Frederick is licensed to practice law in New Mexico, and has practiced in Texas in 1993 and completed her undergraduate training at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas 1981.

Areas of legal emphasis:

Tish Frederick specializes in Family Law, Gay and Lesbian Law, Estate Planning, Guardianship/conservatorships. Same-sex adoptions, and divorce. Ms. Frederick has been practicing law nineteen years.

Peter Bruso


Mr. Bruso began his legal career as a full-time Assistant County Prosecutor in 1974, serving in the capacity for eight years. That was followed by twenty-four years in private practice, working primarily in Criminal Defense, family Law, Civil Rights Claims and General Civil Practice. Mr. Bruso was a Certified Family Law Economic Mediator and served for years on the New Jersey Supreme Court District Ethics Committee investigation Complaints of attorney ethic violations. He also served as a member of the US District Court Criminal Justice Act Panel, regularly representing indigent individuals charged with federal crimes.


Mr. Bruso is licensed to practice law in New Mexico and New Jersey and is admitted to practice before the United State District Court, District of New Mexico, the Us District Court, District of New Jersey, the Ninth Circuit US Court of Appeals and the Third Circuit US Court of Appeals.


After three years of service in the US Army as a Counterintelligence Agent from 1968 to 1971, Mr. Bruso attended Boston University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1974. He completed his undergraduate education at West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Marna Trammell

Marna was born and raised in Eastern New Mexico, where she graduated from Clovis High School, earned an Associate of Legal Studies from Clovis Community College, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology & Criminal Justice from Eastern New Mexico University. Marna attended law school at Ohio Northern University, Petit College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree in 2002.

Marna is married to Mike Trammell, and they have four children. Mike is a licensed private investigator, and the owner/operator of TNT Investigations.

Marna has been practicing law since 2003, and is licensed to practice in New Mexico courts, as well as in Federal District Court and before the United States Supreme Court. Marna opened the Trammell Law Office in Clovis, New Mexico, on November 15, 2004, and continues to serve the people and businesses of New Mexico. Marna is a member of the Curry/Roosevelt County Bar Association and the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers
