Law Offices of Shannon Edwards

Serving all of North Texas. Your rights, your life, your future. We will fight to protect you.

Firm Overview

At the Law Offices of Shannon Edwards, we help you to understand the charges against you and the possible consequences in your ACTIVE CRIMINAL CASE. We will work with you to develop an effective defense strategy, to reduce the charges against you, to increase your odds of winning at trial or to minimize consequences of a guilty plea or finding of guilty after a trial IN YOUR ACTIVE CRIMINAL CASE. We also help people expunge their criminal record or arrest. We DO NOT, however, handle any TICKETS or CITATIONS or JUVENILE cases. Free consultations are provided for POTENTIAL ACTIVE CRIMINAL CASES only. We believe in putting the client first and work hard to understand all your options.

If you are a victim of a crime you do not need a criminal attorney. We only represent pending criminal actions and those charged with pending criminal actions. Do not call or fill out a lead unless a person charged with a crime needs an attorney. Victims should refer to the police or the local district attorney's office.

DUI and DWI
Primarily, I focus on DWI. I have also handled many drug and assault cases.
I feel that my experiences as an Assistant District Attorney really give me an edge in defending people who have been arrested for DWI. When I was working as a Prosecutor, my main focus was to learn the laws and procedures of Texas used against those who had been arrested for drinking and driving. Now as a defense attorney I use my knowledge of how the Prosecutors are going to present their case to my client's advantage. I want justice for my clients, not an easy win for the Prosecution. I look at each case individually and find any piece of information I can to help my clients.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

I am a former Assistant District Attorney. I worked for Collin County. As a result of this work experience, I know what the Prosecutors are planning to present to win the case. Also, because I was a ADA, I have extensive trial experience.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

The Law Offices of Shannon Edwards thinks of the client first. These are some of the things that set us apart:

Mobile -- This law firm knows you are also busy so I will come to you. You will not have to take time off from your job to go to an office. We can arrange to meet at a place and time that fits your schedule.

Payment plan -- I charge a flat rate and will take payments. I can start to work on your case with a down payment and a signed agreement.

Credit cards- I do accept credit card payments, including over the phone payments.

Flat rate -- You will never have to come up with more money once I agree to represent you. After consultation, if you decide that you want to go to trial, that will also be on a flat rate. You will always know what your defense will cost.

Free consultation - I believe that advise should be free. You can call and talk to me before you decide to hire.

Extensive experience as a trial lawyer

What are your firm's strengths and style?

One of the things that sets our firm apart is that we are a mobile law office. We will come to you to prepare your case. We offer a free consultation because we believe that advise should be free. We also charge a flat fee. In other words, you will always know exactly how much your defense will cost. We give you advise, but you make the major decisions in your case. We care about our clients and want to help them be informed and involved in their defense.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)

Since I worked to prosecute people who had been arrested for a DWI, I know the rules and laws regarding this area very well. I work hard to keep myself educated on new laws to help defend my clients.
