Estate Planning
Unfortunately, everyone dies someday, often unexpectedly. People also become mentally incompetent. I help clients reduce the burdens of death and incompetence and thereby help their beneficiaries.
Having been a lawyer advising clients about estate planning for 37 years, I have advised clients of all ages and just about every kind of problem.

Since all clients are concerned about fees, you should be aware that I charge flat rates for living trust packages:

Single person living trust, backup will, health care
directive, durable power of attorney for financial
management, and transfer of residence into trust

Married couple living trust, backup wills, health care
directives, durable powers of attorney for financial
management, and transfer of residence into trust

I charge flat rates whenever possible rather than hourly fees because clients want to know up front what they are going to pay. Sometimes the work to be performed is not ascertainable in advance. In those cases, I charge fees based upon my rate of $250.00 per hour.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I became interested in estate planning while I was in law school. I have helped clients with estate problems ever since.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

I have 37 years of experience. Beginning with my first job, I specialized in estate planning. I have worked in estate planning ever since. That kind of specialization has taught me what people want and what can be done legally.

I taught tax law and estate planning at the University of Southern California for seven years and at UCLA Extension for eight years.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

I have two sub-specialties: taxation, and estate matters related to seniors who are 90+. I counsel seniors with legal problems at the Joslyn Senior Adult Center in Burbank on a volunteer basis, which has added to my understanding of the wide variety of legal problems seniors face.
