Law Office of Scott G Cerbin Esq PLLC

Firm Overview

I succeed in defending my clients at chemical test refusal hearings before the Department of Motor Vehicles, and I have appealed and successfully challenged the DMV administrative law judge's decisions via Article 78 proceedings in Supreme Court. I have assisted hundreds of clients retrieve their seized vehicles from the police department.

DWI charges are complex and overwhelming. If you are convicted, you could lose your license and your car while facing increased insurance premiums, jail time and hefty fines. It is important that you retain an experienced attorney who can help you navigate your case efficiently and cost-effectively.

I have tried more DWI/DUI cases in New York City than any other practice area at my firm. I have tried and won acquittals in felony DWI cases for my clients after successfully cross-examining state expert witnesses and uncovering holes in their logic.

You are free to call my firm at any time of the day or night. When you call or email, you will speak directly with me. As an experienced Brooklyn Heights DWI defense lawyer, I am dedicated to offering personalized attention and care to each of my clients as I help them plan ahead.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I began my career as an attorney after a criminal arrest of my own. I felt the stress that accompanies having an inexperienced attorney who was not dedicated to his clients. My second lawyer, however, was so impressive and hardworking that he inspired me to go to law school and become a criminal defense attorney. This experience helps me empathize with my clients. I understand the myriad difficulties that you are facing and I am dedicated to helping you initiate the same life changes that my attorney did for me.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

At the law firm of Scott G. Cerbin, Esq., PLLC, I am committed to creating trusting relationships with my clients. I have been representing individuals throughout the five boroughs of New York City for more than 13 years from my office in downtown Brooklyn. As an active trial attorney, I do not hesitate to take my cases as far as they need to go to serve my clients' best interests, and my opponents are well-acquainted with my reputation. I have won acquittals at trial in each of the five boroughs of New York City and tried some very serious and high profile cases (See People v. Hale). In addition to my work as a criminal defense lawyer, I focus on post conviction motions, appeals, and cases involving civil rights violations.

A criminal charge can have a devastating effect on every aspect of an individual's future. Your liberty, finances, career, relationships and reputation all hang in the balance. It is essential that you retain an experienced, compassionate criminal defense lawyer who will carefully defend your rights and help you obtain the best outcome possible, regardless of the complexity of your case.

Scott Cerbin

Born and raised in Brooklyn, I am attorney Scott G. Cerbin and I have more than 15 years of experience helping New York City individuals as they face the complexities associated with a vast array of criminal charges. I have won an acquittal after trial in each of the five boroughs of New York City; a feat few practicing attorneys can claim.

I decided to become an attorney after I was arrested on a criminal charge. I understand how stressful and overwhelming it can be to face this process with an attorney who does not listen to nor fully represent the needs of his clients. But my second lawyer dedicated his time and energy to avidly protecting my rights and helping me pursue the best outcome possible. His work inspired me to go to law school so I could help people in the same way he helped me.

When I'm not in my office, I enjoy training for and running marathons. I firmly believe that marathon runners make great attorneys we understand the value in setting goals and planning an appropriate pace in which to achieve them. I love the work I do and I am committed to helping my clients plan for a brighter future, regardless of the nature of their crime. To learn more about my qualifications, follow the link below.
