After graduating from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication, Mr. Stewart chose to attend the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law. Chicago-Kent was his law school of choice because of their renowned reputation for producing trial attorneys, as well as their signature certificate program in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
While in law school, Mr. Stewart became a certified mediator with the Center for Conflict Resolution and successfully mediated high conflict landlord tenant disputes for Cook County Circuit Court.
Mr. Stewart participated in the law school's criminal defense clinic where he, along with several law students and their clinical professor, researched, investigated and uncovered evidence proving a death row inmate's innocence. The law school, the students, and their professor were profiled on the nationally syndicated television show Extra E and numerous other local media news stations. The amazing experience gained while in law school taught Mr. Stewart important negotiation, litigation, and investigation skills that he utilizes on a daily basis representing family law clients.
His book, "The Arizona Divorce Handbook: Your Step by Step Guide to Navigate Arizona Divorce", is available on Amazon and in select office locations.
Amy Dohrendorf has wanted to be an attorney as long as she can remember. In fact, she drove her parents a bit crazy as she engaged in debates about everything from current events to curfews to why it wasn't fair for them to force her to eat fish. For graduation, her father framed a newspaper clipping for her that read, "It wasn't anything that you did or didn't do as parents. I was born to be a lawyer."
But why family law? Well, Amy's parents divorced, but they did so amicably and civilly. As a result, she and her brother were well-adjusted, and Amy wanted to help her clients achieve the same positive outcomes for their families. She also once worked for a judge who stressed the importance of knowing your cases backwards and forwards because he had seen so many attorneys arrive at court unprepared. Amy took his advice to heart and even over-prepares for all of her cases. This, of course, is good news for her clients.
After 16 years in family law, focusing in divorce, paternity/establishment, child custody, relocation, and parental scheduling modifications, Aaron has the experience you need, especially if your case involves litigation.
Aaron grew up in Kansas and received his B.A. at Friends University in Wichita, where he was a 4-year President's Scholar. One major wasn't enough for him, though, so he received a degree in Business Administration and History. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, but that wasn't enough for him either. So, he went on to receive an LL.M. in Tax Law from the University of Denver School of Law. You can see that Aaron is hardly one to rest on his laurels. He is even admitted to practice in three states: Arizona, Colorado, and Kansas.
His career before his time as a family lawyer is equally impressive. He served as Senior Assistant County Counselor for the Sedgwick County, Kansas Counselor's Office where he provided legal advice and representation to elected and appointed officials, prosecuting and defending the County's interests before State and Federal Courts and prosecuting violations of all County resolutions in the County Court.
Melissa realizes that her clients are going through one of the hardest times of their lives, and she believes in complete honesty about what they can expect. She also firmly believes in communicating with her clients to keep them involved every step of the way. Of course, if Melissa is your attorney, you can be sure that she will try to help you reach a resolution outside of the court room if at all possible.
She graduated the University of Denver Law School and maintained a 3.6 GPA, taking night classes to make more room for her volunteer efforts at area legal programs at the same time. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona before traveling to practice law in New Jersey for a short while. She was a judicial clerk for a family court judge there, and it solidified her desire to practice family law.
