Firm Overview

Our success derives from balancing a personal approach to each and every client with dynamic and tenacious advocacy. In the Law Offices of Richard Sax, we regard clients as individuals, never as names attached to legal files. In every case, we strive to provide the finest legal services in a focused, creative, and cost-efficient manner, offering effective legal solutions that are grounded in experience.

At the Law Offices of Richard Sax, we have been passionate about fighting injustice since the founding of our firm. When people are wrongfully accused, we fight to preserve their rights. When people are wrongfully injured, we fight to bring them the justice they deserve. If it is in the best interest of our clients, we will always strive to resolve legal conflicts without going to trial. However, when successful representation requires litigation, we are forceful trial attorneys who aggressively battle to protect the rights of our clients.

Based in Santa Rosa, California, we offer a wide range of legal services in areas such as civil litigation, catastrophic personal injury/wrongful death, divorce and family law, criminal defense, real estate litigation, construction law, medical and legal malpractice, and business law. We are well qualified to provide full representation in state, federal, and appellate courts.

Many of our practice areas overlap. A divorce client may need to obtain a restraining order, or may need to transfer title to real property. A business litigation client may need us to defend against criminal fraud allegations. Having a broad base of knowledge helps us cater to our clients' needsnot just in the present, but for years to come.

We understand how disruptive legal issues can be in your life. Our straightforward approach will help you, your family, and your business resolve legal concerns in an effective, affordable manner.

Richard P. Sax

Richard Sax began his law practice in 1978, after graduating from Seattle University School of Law in 1977. He graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in Political Science in 1975.

While growing up in Washington State, Richard worked with his father in the family title business. Richard's father was saddened when he saw people lose their homes because they lacked legal representation. Richard remembers his father urging him to practice law to help people deal with the intricacies of the legal systemthe banks and the insurance companies, and their well-paid legal counselto equalize the playing field for the rest of us.

When Richard established his law practice, he immediately began taking on the "big city" attorneys and large law firms that aim to exhaust their adversaries financially and emotionally. Because there can be no justice and truth when the rest of us can't even get up to the plate. That's why Richard Sax became a lawyerto equalize the playing field by fighting for your rights and working tirelessly to bring you justice.

In three decades of trial practice, Richard has successfully undertaken a wide variety of legal cases. Currently, he specializes in civil litigation, real estate law, divorce and family law, personal injury/wrongful death, criminal defense, business law, and professional malpractice. Richard is licensed to provide full representation in state, federal, appellate, and supreme courts.

Richard has been appointed to serve as an Arbitrator and Settlement Conference Panelist by the Sonoma County Superior Court. He is a volunteer member of SCORE, an organization funded by the Small Business Administration, which advises small business owners regarding legal and business issues.
