Bankruptcy
The firm has handled thousands of bankruptcy cases in the Houston, Texas area (Southern District of Texas) since 1982. Our fees are reasonable. Chapter 13 cases can usually be commenced for a small down payment (non-business, with wage order).
Many people are in serious debt trouble today. While filing bankruptcy is not the right option for everyone, it is for some people and small businesses. We are a debt relief agency and among other services that we provide, we help people file bankruptcy.
Debt Settlement
Some people either don't qualify to file for bankruptcy, or they simply don't need to file bankruptcy, but they need to resolve some debts or lawsuits. We help clients in those situations resolve their debts through either litigation or settlement.
There are many services that advertise debt settlement services that are not operating legally in Texas, or frankly, just don't serve consumers well.

I have had many clients come in that have paid thousands of dollars to debt settlement companies with few or no debts being resolved. If you have the right kind of situation for debt settlement, we can help you resolve your debts, usually for far less than one of the services that you see advertise that takes a percentage of the savings.
Foreclosure
Our firm has helped thousands of consumers in the Houston, Texas and surrounding areas save their homes from foreclosure, usually by filing chapter 13 bankruptcy for them. However, there are other options available, for the right situation.
There can be other options to deal with a foreclosure, depending upon your circumstances and the time left before any scheduled foreclosure sale. If you live in the Houston metro area, we offer a free first consultation with one of our attorneys to evaluate your situation. If another option is available to you to avoid foreclosure, we will discuss it with you including forbearance, short sale, loan modification or litigation.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I chose to specialize in consumer bankruptcy law in the early 1980's because of the great need. Consumer debt was at a high level at that time, and many people had gotten themselves in trouble with debt.

There are many reasons for people getting into insurmountable debt problems, including loss of job or overtime, divorce, illness, business failure, disability, or any other number of reasons.

Our firm specializes in consumer bankruptcy; we want to help ordinary people get a fresh financial start, as Congress intended when it wrote the Bankruptcy Code.
