Leaving the farmlands of Central Illinois, Duane graduated in 1973 from Southern Illinois University with Bachelor of Science Degree in both Accounting and Finance. After a few years ofpractice as a Certified Public Accountant, Duane was awarded the Juris Doctorate degree from the Chicago Kent College of Law. Duane is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, United States District Court Northern District of Illinois,and the United States Supreme Court.
Having received the coveted American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Procedure while in law school, Duane pursued his interests in the field of forensic accounting and investigative techniques, surveillance, and
security. Duane has years of experience as a Licensed Private Detective which has proven to be a very valuable asset and often called upon and applied to resolve current client matters.
Because of his accounting and legal background and sensitivity toward the vulnerable and unprotected, Duane was often appointed Guardian ad litem by the Cook County Probate Judges to represent minor children, the elderly, and disabled persons.
Establishing his law firm in Palatine, Illinois, Duane represents clients in family law, probate, trusts and estate matters, and in where he litigates diverse and sophisticated property and family law issues at the trial and appellate levels

Duane is an experienced skilled litigator with 31 years of experience. He has been in practice since 1982. His primary goal is to understand and focus on what is important to you, and then competently represent your best interests, while protecting you, your children and your finances.


Duane is licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court, US District Court, Northern District of Illinois, and the State of Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Cook County Bar Association and DuPage County Bar Association. In 2008, Duane received the Academy of Bar Leader Fellow Certificate from the DuPage County Bar Association.
