After working as a criminal defense lawyer at another firm, I created a goal of providing effective, comprehensive representation that would be provided with a personal and attentive approach. I established my office in September of 2009 in pursuit of that goal.
Serving the citizens of central Texas who are in need of a criminal defense lawyer.
• My client was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Felony Driving While Intoxicated, and Driving While License Invalid. The client had confessed to consuming alcohol. The driving while license invalid and the felony driving while intoxicated cases were dismissed. My client received probation on the misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge.
• My client was charged with Felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Possession of Marijuana. He told police officers that the marijuana and gun were in the glove box of his car. The felony possession of a stolen firearm was dismissed and he received deferred probation on the misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

I offer a free one hour initial consultation.
I typically charge a flat rate for services. Misdemeanors typically range from $1,000 to $2,500 through dismissal or plea. Felonies typically range from $2,500 to $7,500 though dismissal, plea or pre-trial hearing. Rates are dependent upon the complexity of the charges and the client's prior criminal history. Additional fees are sometimes required for a trial.
Typically, a flat rate fee is required instead of an hourly rate. However, for limited cases, I charge $100 an hour.

Two reasons: (1) My prior experiences make me a better criminal defense lawyer than I could be in any other area or field of law, (2) My desire to represent and fight for the citizen accused.
I not only respect clients who educate themselves regarding his or her situation, but I also encourage them to do so. Clients who are well informed are more capable of helping both themselves and me as we pursue the best possible outcome in his or her individual cases.
I am more than willing to review anything that a client brings to me. I have found on several occasions that documents brought to me by a client have proven to be extremely valuable in preparing the best defense. I will never reject anything a client has brought to me; after all, they have a vested interest in the case. There is only one way to know if something is of any value, read it.
I am willing to help those who choose to represent themselves to the extent the law permits me to. But I am also committed to being upfront and honest with those I consult. If I believe someone would probably have a better outcome in their case by hiring an attorney, I will tell them so, even if they seek to hire someone other than myself.
I served as a patrol officer for four years before attending law school. While in law school and after graduating from law school I worked at a firm that specialized and concentrated solely on criminal defense.
My time as a police officer as well as the time I spent working for criminal defense attorneys whose combined experience exceeds 40 years.
The biggest advantage I have in representing a client in a criminal matter is my experience as a police officer. Because I used to write police reports, I can read between the lines and spot the weaknesses in a case.Personal interests:
Exercising and playing with my kids. The latter leaves less time for exercising these days.
