Georgia Divorce & Family Law Pricing

While a divorce generally is not cheap, you can count on the attorneys at Kitchens New Cleghorn, LLC to strive to keep your legal costs reasonable and save money wherever possible. So you know what to expect when working with our lawyers, below we have laid out a general framework of the divorce process.

Free Initial Case Assessment

Divorce-Initial-Consultation-150x150To begin the process, we will happily provide you with a free initial consultation by phone so that our lawyers can talk to you, get to know you, and listen to some of the details of your case. After we discuss your situation, we can provide you with an analysis of your case and a tentative strategy for moving forward. If we are comfortable taking your case, and if you are comfortable with our law firm, we will schedule an appointment for you to come into our office to sign a retainer agreement and begin the process.

Cost Of A Contested Divorce

For a contested divorce, our firm will generally require a retainer beginning at $5,000.00. Please keep in mind that no two divorces are the same, so the final costs for a contested divorce, as well as the amount of the retainer, will vary depending on your particular situation. It is our policy always to do our best to keep the price of your divorce down and your legal fees reasonable. If you are dealing with an uncontested divorce, the cost may be considerably cheaper.

Cost Of Other Family Law Services

Our attorneys handle a wide variety of Georgia family law cases, including prenuptial agreements, adoptions, child custody negotiations and modifications, child support negotiations and modifications, domestic partnership formations and domestic partnership dissolutions, and much more. Naturally, the cost of our retainer will depend on the facts and legal complexities of your case, so we encourage you to fill out the form on the upper left hand side of this page, or call our office today to set up a free consultation with one of our attorneys.

With our experienced divorce lawyers located right in the heart of Buckhead Atlanta, you can feel confident knowing you will be well-represented in all aspects of divorce and family law, including:

Contested Divorce: A contested divorce refers to a split in which neither spouse can agree on all details of the end of the marriage. We will work hard to ensure you are well-represented throughout your divorce to get the child custody agreement that you deserve.

Child Support: The end of a marriage doesn’t signal the end of financial responsibilities to your children. Don’t miss out on the financial support you and your child are entitled to. Working with our Atlanta divorce attorneys, you can navigate the court system and maximize the financial support you and your child receive following your divorce.

Alimony: Divorce can spell financial disaster when one spouse has become financially dependent upon the other. Courts have typically used alimony to resolve this type of crisis – but in some cases, it has become harder to get. Our divorce attorneys in Atlanta have successfully negotiated alimony for countless clients and will work hard to get the financial backing you require.

Property Division: Contrary to popular belief, there are no set rules when it comes to splitting marital assets. Homes, cars, property and more can be divided however a judge sees fit during your divorce. Make sure the court has all the facts before a decision is made. Representation by our divorce lawyers will guarantee that the court has accurate, thorough and up-to-date information to make a decision that protects your property.

Uncontested Divorce: When two spouses are able to reach an agreement on alimony, child custody, property division and every other detail concerning the end of their marriage, an uncontested divorce is suitable. Typically an uncontested divorce is faster and less expensive than a contested divorce, but these proceedings still require the guidance of a divorce attorney. Our lawyers will counsel you on whether an uncontested divorce is your best option, and help you file your paperwork and get your uncontested divorce ratified.

Prenuptial Agreements: A prenuptial agreement can be a difficult topic to broach, but it ultimately protects your assets as well as those of your partner. Making a pre-marriage agreement can ensure that your assets are secure in the event of the unexpected. Contact our Atlanta family law attorneys to discuss options for added security as you begin a new marriage.
Atlanta Divorce & Family Law

In addition to divorce and divorce-related litigation, the attorneys at Kitchens New Cleghorn also focus on family law that helps individuals maintain and expand their families – whether it’s a traditional family or otherwise. GA Adoption: Adding a new member to your family is an exciting, albeit sometimes difficult, experience. The family law attorneys at Kitchens New Cleghorn are here to walk you through the complex laws surrounding the adoption process in Georgia.
