How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Although I am proud to serve my clients in a variety of areas of the law, I focus my firm most primarily on family law. This is because I have seen how large the impact of this can be and how deep the wounds can go should a family law case be mishandled. I believe that a client who is dealing with this area of the law is already suffering enough; I wanted to be there to help make the burden lighter.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients dealing with the law should never do so blindly. I encourage all clients to educate themselves so that they can stay involved in the process and make informed decisions as the process continues to unfold.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

All documents that I deem as relevant to the case will be welcomed with open arms. The more information that I have at my disposal, the stronger the case I will be able to build for my clients.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I will discuss all options with my clients in an initial case consultation. Together, we will work together to determine the best way in which I will be able to help them.

Hopper Law Firm, PLLC
Kevin P. Hopper

I have always devoted to my practice to helping clients who need it most. By dealing mostly with family law and criminal defense, as well as commercial, business and construction law and litigation, I am able to offer my clients and well-rounded and thorough understanding of the law. I do not consider myself to be stretching myself too thin as many would accuse, but rather feel that by dealing with many areas of the law, I am given an ability to provide an in-depth knowledge and full comprehension of the law. Clients who work with me will benefit from my ability to help with many aspects of the law, rather than a limited focus on solely family law.

I have over a decade of legal experience. After spending over 16 years dealing with the law, in a variety of areas, I do not have a shallow understanding. Unlike other lawyers who have just started, I have a deeply entrenched knowledge that stems directly from hands-on experience. I have grappled with the law, and I have dealt with it on a daily basis for an extended period of time. This gives me a profound understanding and an ability to approach cases with creative answers and comprehensive legal assistance.

I am meticulous in my approach and dedicated in my attempts to give my clients high-quality representation. I keep in mind at all times that my clients are not numbers, but rather individuals with unique situations and cases. I am therefore fully devoted to ensuring that they are given tailor-made solutions that are personalized to their unique case - never a cookie cutter answer or generic advice.

Personal interests:

I love to practice law; the ability to assist clients on a daily basis with my career is both gratifying and rewarding. When I am not practicing law, however, I love to spend time with my family. I have a wife and two children in our home in Raleigh and am always looking for time to spend with them.
