Johnson & Christensen Law Office, PC is a South Dakota law firm. We are not a national agency. A licensed lawyer will meet with you at your first visit; he or she will be at your hearing if it is necessary to go to a hearing. Whether you are represented by Tom (TJ) or Renee, you know who is representing you and you will be able to talk to them and members of their staff both on the phone and face to face.

This local law firm has a very simple and straight forward approach. Initial consultations are free for disability and Worker's Compensation cases are free. We advance costs and do not require the client to pre-pay costs with a retainer. If we accept your case, you will not get a bill until there is a positive result. Guaranteed.

Tom has been practicing since 1978 and Renee since 1993. We have both been active in our church, our civic interests, our charitable interests and our charitable interests. We do not represent insurance companies or the government; we represent workers and claimants, every day and all day.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Tom has always had a special concern for the disabled due to his experience with disabled family members. With many disabled clients, the Social Security Disability practice and representing the disabled and injured was a natural journey.

Renee’s journey to Social Security Disability and Workman’s Compensation claims started from her extensive experience in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death claims. Most of those Personal Injury clients ultimately had additional claims against their employer or for Disability benefits.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

Both Tom and Renee are sustaining members of NOSSCR National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives. Both seek additional training and education through attendance and participation in seminars and continuing education. Each attends additional continuing education as it becomes available either in-state or out of state in an attempt to stay on the cutting edge of their fields.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

When you chose a lawyer or representative, ask the following questions:
1. Is the person with whom I am speaking, licensed South Dakota lawyer?
2. Does the company I am considering have a real office I can go to?
3. Is the company I am considering located close enough to me so I can go to their office?
4. If I have to go to a hearing, who will go with me – is he or she a lawyer?
5. Before I go to a hearing, will I meet with the lawyer and where?
6. After this initial phone call is done, do I know how I can again speak to BOTH the lawyer who will represent me and his or her assistant who will help me keep my information current?

We promise that you will like the answers to these questions at our Law Firm. We are real South Dakota lawyers with an actual South Dakota office who personally go to all hearings and prepare all clients for those hearings.
