Personal Injury
If you have been injured by a traffic accident, defective product, medical malpractice, fall, or other reason because of another person or company's negligent or improper behavior, we are here to help you receive fair compensation.
We fight for settlements that reflect our client's real losses, including "special damages" such as medical bills and wage loss, and "general damages" such as pain and suffering. We are experienced in all areas of negotiation to arrive at fair compensation, but we do not hesitate to prepare and bring our case to a judge or jury when negotiation fails to reach an acceptable settlement.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

People should be fairly compensated when they are damaged by the negligence of others. Our mission is to stand up for those who have been injured to ensure that they receive the compensation that will "make them whole," as it is intended to do.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The more the better. We like our clients to be involved in their case as much as possible. We consider them to be our partners in achieving a satisfactory settlement.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We represent clients. We do not do document review.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

No. We represent our clients. We proudly put our firm's name on the top of every legal document we write.

John A. Comerford

I believe in the American system of "Equal Justice Under Law," as is written on the US Supreme Court building, and I have been fortunate enough to be able to put together a team of associates that helps clients throughout California gain access to the legal system. Just as banks, credit card companies and insurance companies are represented by attorneys who use their knowledge of the law to the advantage of their clients, we use our experience and knowledge to level the playing field and make sure things are done the right way. Our firm has helped hundreds of clients throughout the Bay Area and throughout California in a wide range of legal issues.

We know that every legal situation is unique, and every situation requires a thorough investigation. For the benefit of our clients we always look first for the simplest and most economical solution, but we do not hesitate to go to trial if necessary. The firm has top ratings on Yelp, Avvo and others, so if you have a question about a legal issue, why not make the call to ask. In many cases there is no need for complicated litigation or legal filings. Effective negotiation is often the best answer. It may be that the solution is simpler than you think.
