My practice is dedicated to family law and no other area of law. Every one of my cases is personal and I treat each one with great care and diligence.

A Certified Specialist Family Law, The State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization
Since 1990, I have been certified as a specialist in family law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. I have also served as Treasurer and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists.

Mediation
There are few family law attorneys and certified family law specialists in San Luis Obispo County who also do family law mediation. I learned the skill by serving as a volunteer mediator for the Superior Court of the County of Los Angeles from 1982 to 2003 and as a Mandatory Settlement Conference officer for the Superior Court. I have handled hundreds of family law mediation cases in my own practice since 1982.

Divorce is difficult, but it should not lead to a financial crisis. I strive to help you reach a fair result and give reasoned counsel as to all issues the subject of your matter.

Child custody and visitation
For every parent, child custody is the most important issue in their case. Every parent tells me this. I seek orders that allow parents to arrive at a parenting plan that meets their family needs and character.

Child support
Both parents share the responsibility of raising a child. I help ensure your child receives the financial support required for a healthy, happy upbringing.

Child support modification and enforcement
Child support payments remain the same unless the court modifies the child support order. If either parent experiences a significant change in financial circumstances, I can guide you through the proper legal procedures to modify your child support payments accordingly.

Divorce
I will stand by you and talk to you all throughout your divorce. I stay by your side through mediation or litigation, depending on which is likely to obtain the best possible results for you. This includes arriving at an equal division of community property, an award of child support and spousal support in accordance with the law, and an award of attorneys' fees and costs payable by the other party when the law requires it.
