My firm focuses on Probate, Family Law, Real Estate, Civil Litigation and Appeals. I have established a successful practice by providing creative and cost-effective solutions--whether it be settling or litigating cases. My office is family owned and operated from a turn-of-the-century home in East Sacramento.
Our service is personal. If our phone is not promptly answered by a real person, you will receive a return call that same day. We listen to our clients and stay focused on their cases.
I won an appeal last year after my opposing counsel consulted three retired judges who told her there was NO WAY I could win. In my first year as an attorney, I obtained a summary judgment in federal court confirming my client as sole beneficiary of an ERISA death benefit.
More recently, I proved a client's right to inherit from her biological father even though his paternity had been a secret for 52 years.
Additionally, I have successfully brought suits against other attorneys for failure to adequately represent clients.

I like helping real people solve real problems
I believe it's very important for clients to learn as much as they can about the law and especially the law regarding their case. A lawyer should be willing to share his legal expertise with the client since the client is paying for the lawyer's services.
A lawyer has a fiduciary duty to his client. This means the lawyer must treat the clients' interests as though they were his own, so the lawyer should educate the client about the merits and legal procedure of the case to inform the client's decisions about the case.
I encourage clients to draft documents and invest themselves in their case whenever possible. This provides a solid basis for teamwork between the lawyer and the client in tackling legal problems and reduces costs by decreasing the need for lawyer's preliminary work.
I am willing to assist a client in pro per unless it is a contested or complicated matter.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, I was an Officer in the U.S. Navy. I was a Naval Flight Officer and Mission Commander aboard the Navy's Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron Aircraft known as TACAMO - "Take Charge and Move Out." I was also an instructor at the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, RI, where I trained future officers in leadership and communication skills.
I worked for a state legislator and learned how to cut through bureaucratic red tape to better serve clients. As a Naval Officer, I became familiar with the Navy's Core Values: Courage, Commitment and Integrity. I employ these values in my everyday practice.
I am comfortable with all types of clients and eager to solve their legal problems. In a litigated matter, I will give the opposing party or attorney enough rope to hang themselves.
I do not have just one style. I will adjust my style as necessary to obtain a winning result, in keeping with my core values and professional standards.
I enjoy traveling, biking, hiking, gardening, home improvement, and dining with my wife (a gourmet cook in her own right).
