Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

I had a long-time interest in legal issues, dating back to high school.

What are your policies about dividing work within the firm to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

Learned discipline and dedication at West Point and in military service. Years of litigation experience have taught me how to prepare for criminal cases through and including trial. Excellent writing skills are useful for trial motions and appeals.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

First year criminal law instructor was the incumbent Orange County DA. He inspired me to become a deputy DA.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Representing clients in serious and complex cases engenders a feeling of usefulness and accomplishment.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

I am fortunate to have first-rate, dedicated, and motivated legal assistants and office manager who provide invaluable assistance.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I think it is a good idea for clients to be educated about and aware of key legal issues involved in their cases.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

It is atypical for criminal defendants to prepare documents, but I am happy to review such documents if they do.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I discourage clients from trying to represent themselves in serious felony or complex criminal cases.
