James Flexer

James Flexer graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in 1974, Rhodes College in 1978, and Tulane School of Law in 1981. In 1981, he started the Law Offices of James A. Flexer and now has eight (8) attorneys and seven (7) paralegals, secretaries, and legal assistants.
Mr. Flexer handles primarily consumer bankruptcy cases. The other attorneys handle bankruptcy, personal injuries, worker's compensation, criminal defense, social security disability, probate matters, and the general practice of law.
Mr. Flexer is a member of the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and the Nashville Bar Association.
He has lectured at the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees and Nashville Bar Association seminars on consumer bankruptcy and regularly addresses legal and civic organizations on consumer bankruptcy.

Daniel Castagna

Dan Castagna was born and raised in Queens, New York, and arrived in Nashville in 1995 to attend Vanderbilt University as an undergraduate. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1999 and received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology. He subsequently attended and graduated Seton Hall University School of Law in 2003. He has been with the Law Offices of James Flexer since he received his license later that year.
Dan Castagna is the senior bankruptcy associate of the firm and handles primarily consumer bankruptcy cases. He handles all aspects of Chapter 7 liquidation and Chapter 13 reorganization bankruptcy cases. He handles the Chapter 13 court docket, Chapter 7 court docket, Chapter 13 meeting of creditors, and Chapter 7 meeting of creditors. Dan is licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Dan has handled thousands of bankruptcies during the course of his employment with the Law Offices of James A. Flexer.

Lewis Williams

Lewis Williams graduated from Fayette Ware High School in 1998, University of Tennessee at Martin in 2002 and the Cecil C. Humphrey's School of Law at the University of Memphis in 2005. While in Law School, Lewis clerked for the Shelby County Criminal Court Judges, where he did legal research and drafted the Judges orders. Lewis also participated in Mock Trial and Moot Court while at the University of Memphis.
As a Special Hearing Officer for the State of Tennessee, Lewis Williams presided over numerous hearing involving the rights of citizens of Tennessee. It was from this experience that Lewis realized that he wanted to be a Plaintiff's attorney and further help the citizens of this state protect their rights.
Lewis has been an associate of this firm since January 2006 and handles a wide variety of cases including General Law, Criminal Defense, Domestic Relations, Estate Planning, and Personal Injury.

Lori Lott

Lori S. Lott grew up in Middle Tennessee and graduated from Davidson Academy in 2000. She graduated magna cum laude from Western Kentucky University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science and subsequently attended the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville, TN. At UT Law, Lori focused primarily on real estate and business transactions and was a staff writer for the school's business law journal.
After law school, Lori moved to Clarksville, TN and worked at a general practice law firm with an emphasis on criminal defense, divorce, child custody, and juvenile matters. Lori actively participated in Montgomery County's Teen Court program, allowing high school students to prosecute and defend other high school students in real criminal matters. She also accepted many court appointments in both the criminal and juvenile courts. In early 2009, Lori decided to switch gears completely and joined a small bankruptcy firm in Gallatin, TN. In December 2009, she joined the Law Offices of James A. Flexer and focuses her entire practice on the representation of debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy.

Rodney Caldwell

Rodney Lewis Caldwell grew up in West Nashville, and upon completing high school at Hillwood Comprehensive High School, he decided to attend college at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. While at the University of Tennessee, Rodney majored in History and minored in English. Upon graduating from college in 2001, Rodney returned to Nashville and worked for about a year before deciding to go back to school.
Rodney decided to attend law school at the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. While in law school, Rodney served as the law clerk for Chancellor Walter L. Evans, for two years. Rodney also served as a bankruptcy extern for the Honorable David Kennedy, Chief Judge for the Western District Bankruptcy Court, during the summer of 2006. Rodney received his Juris Doctorate in 2006 and decided to return to Nashville to practice law.
Upon being admitted to practice law in Tennessee, Rodney took a job with the office of the Metropolitan Public Defender. As a public defender, Rodney represented indigent individuals with charges ranging from simple misdemeanors to serious felonies. After practicing criminal law with the Public Defender's Office for almost three years, Rodney decided to leave the Public Defender's Office and join The Law Offices of James Flexer in early 2010, where he currently focuses on debtor bankruptcy law.

Michelle Spezia

Michelle L. Spezia grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended high school at Villa Duchesne. She graduated from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and subsequently attended Valparaiso University School of Law in Valparaiso, Indiana. While in law school, Michelle studied abroad at University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, focusing on international and comparative law. Additionally, she was an executive board member of Valparaiso Mock Trial, where she competed nationally in trial advocacy competitions. She also maintained a regular column in the law school newspaper, The Forum, during her tenure at Valparaiso.
After law school, Michelle moved to Nashville, Tennessee and began practicing consumer bankruptcy law in early 2008. She has represented individual and corporate clients in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases. In January, 2012, she joined the Law Offices of James A. Flexer and focuses her practice on the representation of debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy.
