What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

We relate to our clients because we know what it is like to start up and run a successful business.

inVigor Law Group began when three Seattle University Law grads decided to "startup" a law firm to find a better model for serving business. We spent six months interviewing any entrepreneurs and business owners who would talk to us, and we discovered that most business owners felt the same way: lawyers did not provide practical legal solutions, they were slow to turnaround projects, and their bills were not only convoluted, but often completely unexpected.

We realized that much of the disconnect between the business community and the lawyers who can help those businesses succeed could be resolved simply: As business lawyers, we need to be practical, be transparent, communicate regularly, and give business owners certainty when it comes to their bill.

Gideon Dionne

Entrepreneurship is in my blood, and I have always been interested in helping businesses succeed. I was born on my family's farm in North Dakota and was raised working for my father's landscape, construction, and demolition company in Fort Collins, Colorado. At eighteen, I started a project bidding and jobsite management consulting business serving contractors in northern Colorado, which I continued during my undergraduate education. I have worked for retail companies in both management and sales positions, and have worked in the service industry as a professional fly-fishing guide in central Colorado. Before co-founding inVigor Law Group, I worked in-house for a public international e-commerce company. In addition, I serve as an advisor to the board of a real estate holding and management company based in Lubbock, Texas, with office, retail, industrial, land development, and hospitality interests.

I co-founded inVigor Law Group with the goal of putting this knowledge and experience to work for your business.

My primary practice areas are business contracts, business formation, structuring, financing, and strategy, investment partnerships and pooled funds, and commercial real estate sales and leasing.

I am licensed to practice law in Colorado and Texas.

Outside the office I enjoy spending time with my wife and family, fly fishing, traveling (particularly to fly fishing destinations), wildlife conservation, golf, snowboarding, and reading.

Kyle Hulten

I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life. I love it here. I grew up in Lake Stevens, WA, and earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Seattle. After taking a law school course on Corporations, Law and Society, I knew I wanted to help Seattle businesses with their legal services. I came to fully appreciate the impact of business on society and how the law can shape this impact. I appreciate the relationship between business and our communities, and I am passionate about making it easier for businesses to positively impact our community.

I have worked for sole proprietorships, public companies, and non-profits; I currently sit on the board of a non-profit corporation. Before working in the legal field, I worked in the banking and investment industries, the food-service industry, and the technology industry (cloud-computing services). Since joining the legal industry, I have worked for a sole practitioner, a downtown firm, and volunteered for Climate Solutions, a non-profit corporation supporting proposition that clean energy and broadly-shared economic prosperity can go hand-in-hand.

My primary practice areas are securities, business formations, technology contracts, investment advisor regulation, and mergers and acquisitions.

When I am not in the office, there is a good chance I am cooking, relaxing on the couch with my fiancee watching a tv series (all-time favorites are The Wire, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men), or playing or watching sports. I play soccer and golf, and fervently follow too many sports teams: the UW Huskies, Sounders, Arsenal, and Bay Area pro sports teams. I am also a bit of a self-professed nerd and enjoy reading about technology and developing websites and web applications. My favorite place to visit outside of the Northwest is Lake Tahoe.

I have always been driven to help others succeed. I am passionate about helping people develop strategies to start, grow, and protect businesses. I am lucky enough to be able to employ this passion as well as my drive to help others succeed by providing legal services to driven entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and businesses. I have valuable experience in a variety of legal environments: the public sector, working alongside the city prosecutors in East Wenatchee and SeaTac; the solo practice, working with an estate planning attorney in Seattle; and the corporate realm, working in-house for a public international e-commerce company. I've developed a well-rounded understanding of the complex interaction between business and law, and I employ this experience to help entrepreneurs successfully wade through the complexities of starting, maintaining, and growing a business.

I co-founded inVigor Law Group with the goal of putting this knowledge and experience to work for your business.

I focus my practice on drafting business contracts, assisting entrepreneurs in forming LLCs and corporations, advising companies on securities regulations when raising funds from investors, protecting intellectual property (trademarks and copyrights), structuring the purchase and sale of businesses, and buy-sell agreements.

Outside the office I enjoy backpacking and traveling with my wife and dog, fly fishing, running, skiing (both water and snow), and playing soccer.

Collin Roberts

I am a Seattle native, and I am committed to serving the Pacific Northwest startup climate. I decided early in my academic career that I was interested in serving business owners of all sizes, from sole proprietors to established corporations. I decided to jointly obtain my law degree and MBA to advance my overall business knowledge and surround myself with professors and colleagues who had work experiences ranging from tech startups to Fortune 500 companies. This unique education has provided me with the knowledge and background to provide my clients with sound legal advice through a business oriented lens.

I have worked as in-house counsel at a large digital media firm, focusing on intellectual property and corporate formation and governance issues. I have also clerked at the King County Superior Court, splitting my time between the courtroom, researching numerous motions, and drafting memoranda for Judge Michael Hayden.

I focus my practice on drafting business contracts, assisting entrepreneurs in forming businesses, advising companies on securities regulations, protecting intellectual property, structuring business exit strategies and succession planning, and advising and negotiating contracts for professional athletes.

Outside the office I enjoy playing golf, tennis, football, travelling, brewing craft beer, watching all Seattle sports teams, and spending time with my wife, Kelley. I also enjoy volunteering my time with Young Life, the Union Gospel Mission, and serving on the board of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Ryan Hogaboam

I was born in Tacoma and raised in the Northwest. I have traveled around the US, including a three year stint in Los Angeles, and have traveled abroad too: by taking advantage of study abroad programs I spent months in Europe and South America. But there is no place quite like my home town, Tacoma. Smalltown feel with the perks of big city living; Tacoma really is, as singer-songwriter Neko Case said, a dusty old jewel in South Puget Sound.

My love for my community complements my interest in business. Businesses have a great opportunity in Tacoma and I want to help others realize that opportunity. Of course, running a business is not without difficulty, risk, and conflict. My passion is counseling individuals and businesses in crisis, providing navigation from conflict to conflict resolution. My ultimate goal is to provide resolute and enthusiastic risk management, negotiation, or litigation of business disputes. After ten years working in the service industry, including three years as a manager, I have experienced the importance of maintaining a sense of urgency and grace under pressure. These skills are invaluable when responding to crisis.

My legal experience includes numerous court appearances on behalf of clients, negotiation of favorable settlements, discovery, and pre-trial motions. I have also taken jury trials to verdict. My professional work extends to a commitment to pro bono services. I volunteer twice a month in the settlement and litigation of eviction matters for low-income individuals and families in South King County.

Becoming a lawyer has empowered me to make a real difference in the lives of business people in the community that I love. I am thankful every day for this opportunity and challenge.

My primary practice areas are business dispute resolution, including litigation and litigation defense, commercial landlord/tenant, copyright law, trademark law and entertainment law.

When I am away from work, I enjoy reading, playing bass guitar, and staying active- enjoying the outdoors and exercising. I dream of one day building a sailboat by hand.
