Firm Overview

Howard Law is a national law firm comprised of experienced teams of attorneys that have represented plaintiffs and consumers from all over the country in many complex and high profile litigation matters. Our teams of attorneys represent thousands of consumers, who have been victimized by fraudulent, abusive, and predatory business and lending practices.

The consumers' right to access our nation's justice system is under attack from "tort reform," legislators' attempts to "water-down" federal regulations, and preemption of strong state laws. Everyday, our teams of attorneys witness thousands of American consumers who have fallen victim to the unscrupulous and deceptive business practices of some of our nation's largest lenders and corporations. Wherever there is an injustice of this sort, our teams of attorneys are there to ensure that justice is served. Our enforcement of the laws ensures that the American people have a consumer marketplace that is based on our nation's fundamental sense of fairness, equity and honesty.

A study by the Center for Justice & Democracy concluded that injured consumers who have brought lawsuits against negligent manufacturers, polluters, and other offending organizations have saved millions of lives and prevented countless injuries by forcing these entities to stop their misconduct while at the same time compelling them to develop safer products. Our attorneys pride themselves on their role in helping consumers hold corporations accountable for the harm or loss of life they have caused.

Our attorneys have been successful in prosecuting intricate and complex cases against some of the world's largest corporations, manufacturers and insurance companies. We focus on complex and major damage cases in the areas of:

-Social Secrurity Disability Income (SSDI) & Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Social Security Disability Income (SSDI)
=======================================
According to the State of California Employment Development Department, an estimated 5.9 million Californians have a disability. While there are many disabled people in the workforce, there are a large portion of Californians of working age who are disabled so severely by a medical condition or illness that they are not able to work to provide for themselves or for their family members. When an individual of working age is not able to work, the social security administration provides benefits through a program called social security disability insurance, or SSDI.
Unfortunately, while SSDI is supposed to help the disabled, SSA statistics indicate that only 1,025,003 of the 2,878,920 claims for disability benefits made in 2011 were approved and resulted in an award of benefits. This means the denial rate for overall SSDI applications is more than 63 percent. With such a high denial rate, it is imperative you seek legal help with your SSDI claim from California disability benefits attorneys. Howard Law, P.C. can help. Our social security lawyers have extensive experience with the SSDI claims process as well as with the appeals process that will help you to fight for benefits if your initial claim is denied. Contact us today to learn more about how we can help you to get the benefits you need and deserve.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
==================================
Statistics provided by the State of California Employment Development Department indicate that approximately 54 million Americans- or 20 percent of all Americans- suffer from a disability. In the state of California alone, there are approximately 5.9 million disabled individuals. Unfortunately, people of prime working age between 21 years old and 64 years old make up the largest segment of the disabled population within the state of California. While many disabled individuals are able to work despite their medical condition or disabling injury, there are many others who are simply too disabled to hold down a job and provide for themselves or for the members of their family.

When you cannot work and need income, the Social Security Administration provides a social safety net in the form of SSI benefits. SSI stands for supplemental security income, which is income provided to the elderly or to the disabled who have minimal resources and who cannot work. Unlike other types of disability benefits, SSI benefits are not based on work history so they may be available to people who never worked, as well as to children. However, it is difficult to be approved for SSI benefits due to a high denial rate, and it is very important that you get legal help both with your initial application for benefits and, even more importantly, with any appeals that may become necessary if your initial benefits claim is denied. The disability benefits attorneys at Howard Law, P.C. have successfully represented clients throughout Southern California in obtaining SSI benefits. Contact us today to learn more.
