Harris, Caddell & Shanks, P.C., advises clients in all matters related to their business operation, including entity selection, formation and operation of corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and other business and nonprofit organizations. The attorneys assist clients in the negotiation and preparation of merger and acquisition agreements, sales contracts, buy-sell and shareholder agreements, employment agreements (including covenants not to compete and nondisclosure agreements), financing and security agreements, leases, shareholder agreements, operating agreements, and deferred-compensation and retirement plans. Thomas A. Caddell

Tom Caddell is a native of Decatur and has practiced with the firm since 1960. His practice focuses on commercial real estate matters and general corporate representation.

Tom Caddell's four decades of legal practice have afforded him particular expertise in commercial and residential real estate development and title insurance matters. He regularly represents developers, lenders and investors involved in commercial development transactions. He also regularly represents banks and other financial institutions in all types of commercial and real estate loan transactions, as well as real estate acquisitions and dispositions. Tom has also assisted several large manufacturing companies with the acquisition of real estate and facilities for use in their operations in North Alabama.
