Tyler King

Mr. King is licensed in the federal and state bars of the District of Columbia and Maryland. He obtained his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, renowned for its focus on practical experience and social responsibility. The National Jurist recently selected Northeastern University School of Law as the nation's best public interest law school. Mr. King has a broad base of litigation experience including work with the United States Department of Justice's Environmental Enforcement Section; Kohn, Kohn, & Colapinto's "whistleblower" practice; and Jackson & Campbell's real estate group.

In real estate matters, Mr. King represents creditors and debtors in bankruptcy, litigates contracts, and advises clients on tax compliance and estate planning. Mr. King's background in the underpinnings of real estate transactions comes from his expertise underwriting title insurance policies on an array of real estate financing scenarios including defeasance, mezzanine, interest rate swap, and municipal bond financing, among others. As a title attorney Mr. King wrote articles on 1031 exchanges and is a go-to person on transfer and recordation tax questions for many local attorneys and developers. Over a two-year period Mr. King handled over a quarter billion dollars in consideration and issued over a half billion dollars in liability insurance.

In representing businesspeople and nonprofits, Mr. King aids clients in business formation and organization, regulatory and tax compliance, contracting, employment, and financing. Staying true to his public interest roots, Mr. King takes on a variety of public interest matters in cases ranging from bed bugs to bankruptcies, and everything in between. Mr. King handles consumer protection actions, participates in a pro bono foreclosure prevention program, and participates in Maryland's "Wills for Heroes" program, providing estate planning to law enforcement, fire fighters, and first responders. Mr. King will also take on cases involving consumer protection, employment and whistleblower, Qui-Tam, immigration, students, and constitutional rights.

Mr. King is a father of three and lives with his wife in Washington, DC.

Ryan Hintzen

Mr. Hintzen is of Counsel at Franklin Square Law Group. Prior to joining Franklin Square Law Group, Mr. Hintzen was the founder of the The Hintzen Law Firm and also practiced at O'Melveny & Myers which represents a broad spectrum of Fortune 500 companies both publicly-traded and privately-held.

Mr. Hintzen is a passionate advocate and skilled negotiator. He brings over eight years of experience and a client focused approach to Franklin Square Law group. Additionally, he has successfully represented clients in matters involving employment, immigration, business and contract related issues.

Mr. Hintzen earned his joint Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Golden Gate University School of Law and School of Business. In law school, he received a CALI award in Appellate Advocacy and also won the Appellate Advocacy oral argument competition. In business school, Mr. Hintzen's focus was strategic marketing. Prior to law school, Mr. Hintzen earned a Bachelor of Arts in American History from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Mr. Hintzen is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Shannon Schoultz

Ms. Schoultz is an associate at the Franklin Square Law Group. Ms. Schoultz's practice includes criminal defense, employment matters, and general litigation matters.
Ms. Schoultz is an honor graduate of the University of South Carolina. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the American University Washington College of Law, where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, Ms. Schoultz was a staff member for the American University Administrative Law Review, and also served as the Director of the National High School Moot Court Competition for the Moot Court Honor Society. Ms. Schoultz served as a Teaching Fellow for the Legal Research and Writing Program, and was recognized as a Distinguished Fellow. Ms. Schoultz is a two-time Peter S. Ridely Memorial Scholarship Recipient. Ms. Schoultz was also recognized as a Pro Bono Scholar for completing over 175 hours of Pro Bono work and community service. Additionally, Ms. Schoultz was recognized by the Washington College of Law's Clinical Program for Outstanding work as a Student Attorney in the school's Civil Advocacy Clinic.
Prior to joining the Franklin Square Law Group, Ms. Schoultz served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Zoe Bush of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. As a law clerk, Ms. Schoultz was responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on a variety of motions, and assisted in over 60 felony trials.
Ms. Schoultz is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. She is a member of the Washington Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association, and the National Bar Association.
