Firm Overview

The Law Offices of Frank G. D'Angelo & Associates, P.C. is dedicated to providing comprehensive legal care to individuals and families in the areas of elder law, estate planning, planning for disability and special needs, estate administration, wills and trusts, guardianship, and real estate. Our firm coordinates legal services with other professionals, including nurse care managers, physicians, therapists, social workers, accountants and financial planners. We take a holistic approach to a problem and recognize that multi-professional interaction, support, compassion, and hands-on attention will ensure that the needs of our clients are met.

Our firm was established in 1986, and gradually grew into an office with ten support staff members in two locations. Our staff includes paralegals, legal assistants, and a director of nurse care management. These professional services are provided by my wife, Ann Marie D'Angelo, APRN-BC, an Advanced Practice Nurse specializing in geriatrics. Ann Marie is a graduate of Columbia University, and is currently teaching in the nursing department at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York.

Example cases

I regularly become involved in estate planning and planning for incapacity or illness. I assist individuals and families in a variety of ways to help them deal with legal, financial, and health care management challenges that people face when an illness has developed or a person has been diagnosed with catastrophic illness. I also help those who have not developed an advanced estate and personal care plan.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I greatly enjoy dealing with people, sharing and helping them through times of crisis. I find it very rewarding to resolve critical problems and to serve as a support to clients. It provides me with an opportunity to share in their lives and I am rewarded by the knowledge that I have been helpful.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The more informed clients are concerning legal and financial issues, the better prepared they will be to make decisions and implement good legal plans that are consistent with their best interests.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am willing to review the documents and make recommendations to the client.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am unwilling to coach clients. It is my feeling that if coaching is required, the client is in need of legal representation on some level.

Frank D'Angelo

Upon completing law school in 1985, I was employed as an attorney by the New York City Department of Aging. I also worked as a family lawyer for a prepaid legal service plan, where I handled family law and divorce litigations. I began my law firm in 1986, on a part-time basis. However, it quickly grew, and my wife and I were faced with having to make a life-changing decision and take on the challenges of a full-time practice. Fortunately, I was able to do this successfully thanks to the help and continued support of a legal mentor, Jerry Limoncelli, ESQ.

In addition to being a practicing lawyer, I am an ordained deacon in the Roman Catholic Church. Deacons are married clergy who administer many sacraments and provide service to the parish and the community.

I try to serve as a good listener and to always put my clients at ease. Our staff is very attentive to clients and their needs, Our style of supportiveness, compassion, and knowledge instills a great confidence and assurance in our clients.

Personal interests:

I enjoy boating, gardening, sports (including baseball, football, basketball and tennis), reading, and most importantly, spending time with my family.
