Estate Planning
Often people don't understand the complexities of Estate Planning. Luckily, we understand how to make the law work for you.
"Where there's a will, there's a way" but a will alone may not be enough to protect your interests. Before you undertake to do things yourself, please contact us and we'll be able to steer you in the right direction and create a package to fit your needs.
When the wolf is at the door, get the Finns on the phone!
Foreclosure is often a very scary time. The bank is telling you one thing but you go into Court and the opposing attorney tells you another. You've applied for refinancing but they still are trying to evict you from your own home. Worse yet, you move out only to find out the bank never took the home and now you have a zombie mortgage and a home that has been vacant and is in disrepair. Having an attorney on your side through the process saves you frustration and anxiety, and prevents lingering liability from sneaking up on you months and years later.
Losing a loved on is hard enough, dealing with the Probate process is way too much to handle on your own at such a sensitive time.
We have handled many Estates- from simple to complex, from large to small, we know what to do. Did you know that opening up probate may be needed even if there is a will? Did you know that opening probate is a way to get rid of creditors? Did you know that even without a will you can avoid probate in many situations? Your family is important, and we take the time to get things done right the first time, with as little squabbling as possible. We take on the heavy lifting so you can focus on the thing that matters- remembering the person's legacy.
Real Estate
Every Finn & Finn file is handled by a licensed attorney
Did you that in many real estate firms, paralegals do most of the upfront work, and the lawyer only shows up at closing? We believe there's a better way. We do all the legwork ourselves and ensure things get done promptly. Short sales are not a problem for us, and we can make that process smoother than you think. We do purchases, sales, residential and commercial. Why take a chance with another firm where you are just a number? Come get personalized attention at Finn & Finn!

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

We love helping people through some of the biggest decisions and turning points in their lives. We form deep connections with the majority of our clients, and many of our clients have become our friends over the years. We want to be there for them for all the major life milestones. For us, it's not about Area of Practice, it's about, what can we do to make your life easier?

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others?

Although we could tout Amy Strege as having a certification in Environmental Law that is unique in Lake County, or the years of experience as Corporation Counsel for the City of Waukegan, our various positions of prominence in the Lake COunty legal community, awards that we've won, and numbers of cases we've won, it's not our accolades or win percentage, it's the amount that we care. We put our blood, sweat and tears into our careers. This is not a 9-5 clock in and clock out for us. This is our way of contributing to our community.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

We care for each client as if they were part of our own family. We develop life-long relationships.
