Steve Fields

As the founder of Fields Law Firm, Steve began his law career with a small personal injury law firm helping people injured throughout Minnesota. Steve believes his experience has helped him to be prepared for any circumstance that his clients face after getting hurt at work or if they are disabled and unable to return to work.

Steve grew up in Kasson, Minnesota, just outside of Rochester where he learned the value of hard work and spent time doing a variety of jobs including painting, janitorial work, and working for small family farms before heading to college in Mankato.

When he isn't working, Steve spends time with his wife and two kids, heads up to the Boundary Waters (favorite outfitter Piragis), reads, and plays the guitar.

Kristen Gyolai

Kristen Gyolai believes that being a good lawyer means being a good listener.

Hailing from Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Kristen came to Minnesota to earn her bachelor's degree in communication and writing studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth. She graduated magna cum laude. During her time as an undergrad, she was a reporter for the student newspaper, resident advisor, communication club officer, and Chairperson of the College of Liberal Arts Academic Advising Committee.

She went on to study law at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. During law school Kristen was active in the Minnesota Justice Foundation and Mitchel Mentors. Prior to being admitted to practice law in Minnesota, Kristen learned about personal injury law while clerking with Fields Law Firm.

Kristen is a current member of the MSBA New Lawyer Section and the Minnesota Association for Justice.

During her spare time, she enjoys running, practicing yoga, reading, and cooking for her family.

Elisa Murillo

A member of Fields Law Firm, Elisa Murillo has years of experience practicing plaintiff's personal injury law and representing defendant insurance companies. Her knowledge of insurance company tactics, focus on professionalism, and proficiency in Spanish help her fight for the justice her clients deserve.

Practicing law in Minnesota for more than five years, Elisa is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. She serves as Vice-Chair of the New Lawyers Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association, and was Treasurer and Chair of the Outreach Committee in the past. In addition, Elisa is a member of the Minnesota Association of Justice: Women for Justice, as well as the American Association for Justice.

In June 2013, Elisa was named as a finalist for the Public Justice 2013 Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in honor of her outstanding contributions in United States and State of Illinois ex rel. Absher v. Momence Meadows Nursing Center, Inc.


In her spare time, Elisa enjoys spending time with her family, attending her children's school and extracurricular events, listening to music, and watching theater, baseball, and dance.

    Elisa graduated in the top 15 percent of her class from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. During law school, she received several honors, including the Dean's Merit Scholarship, the Susanne C. Sedgwick Memorial Scholarship, the Law School Public Service Award, and the opportunity to serve as a student marshal at commencement.

Melissa Juedes

As an attorney, Melissa enjoys using her skills and knowledge of the law to help injured people get the benefits they deserve. At Fields Law, she enjoys working to improve the practice of law and forging personal connections with people who need an advocate.

Originally from Stetonsville, Wisconsin, Melissa graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. While an undergraduate, she was in the honors program, served as vice president of the political science honor society, and was a member of the pre-law society.

She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. During law school, Melissa participated in several extracurricular activities, including the Minnesota Justice Foundation and Minnesota State Bar Association, and tutored other students for their 1L exams.

A Green Bay Packers fan, Melissa loves spending time with her friends and family. She participates in half-marathons and 5K races for charity, and also volunteers at nursing homes in her free time.

Brandon Operana

Brandon Operana joined Fields Law Firm bringing previous experience with injury law cases from working in other private law firms and for the federal government. As an attorney, Brandon is passionate about being an advocate for his clients and helping them get the money they deserve for their medical bills and lost wages. He enjoys being able to help clients feel whole again and have a sense of security by knowing that their families are in good hands.

Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Brandon received his associate degree in legal studies from Robert Morris University. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, before earning a Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law.

During his free time, Brandon enjoys a variety of hobbies, including going to the gym, kayaking, fishing, playing with his pets, running, playing video games, working on his car and house, and even skydiving.
