Etheriedge & Stovall, LLC

Wise counsel for businesses, nonprofits, and the people who lead them. Big firm expertise with small-town personal attention for all your business formation, litigation (business, contract, collections, construction) & estate planning/probate needs.

Firm Overview

We routinely advise & assist clients interested in forming new business entities, including S-corporations, C-corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships. We also review and prepare business and corporate transaction documents, like asset purchases and sales, contracts, employment agreements, and commercial leases.

Almost every business eventually finds itself in a dispute, whether it's an account collection, an argument over a contract, a dispute between the owners, etc. We can provide you with experienced, pragmatic counsel and representation focused on resolving your dispute effectively and efficiently, so you can keep your focus on your business.

Whether you are an owner, a contractor, or a subcontractor, we can advise you on the construction contracting and performance process, from drafting/reviewing contracts, to addressing collection and performance issues like liens and bond claims, to handling claims concerning breach of contract and negligent construction.

We assist individual clients in the efficient transfer of assets to their chosen beneficiaries, taking into consideration the client's personal goals and values, business succession planning concerns, the impact of relevant estate, gift, and income tax rules, and more.

Serving as an executor, administrator, trustee, guardian, or attorney-in-fact can be a daunting task. We can give you the peace of mind and assurance that such matters will be handled in a professional and objective manner with sound legal guidance.

We routinely advise and assist churches, ministries, and other nonprofit organizations on legal matters, including formation, application for federal tax-exempt status, corporate governance, and more.

As partners in a small law firm, we are small business owners ourselves. We understand the challenges you face as fellow business owners and professionals. The risks you undertake and manage. The opportunities and long term goals you pursue. The creativity and drive you bring to your work. The positive impact you strive to have on your community. We want to be a trusted part of your team of professional advisers helping you meet the challenges, anticipate and navigate the obstacles, and seize the opportunities to achieve your goals in the marketplace.

We also have deep experience working for and representing nonprofit organizations. We are people of faith who love our neighbors -- in our local community, in our state, in our nation, and in the world. We understand the passion and compassion that drives people to invest their time, talents, and resources into making life better for their fellow human beings. We are inspired and energized when we have the privilege of coming alongside creative problem solvers to provide the legal counsel and services they need to achieve great things for others.

Christopher Stovall

After 19 years of practicing law for respected firms in Atlanta and then Phoenix, Chris came home from Arizona to start The Stovall Law Firm, P.C., in 2015. Chris grew up in Gwinnett County (Parkview High School Class of 1988) and now lives and practices in the Cumming area. Now the Stovall Law Firm has joined with Etheriedge & Associates to offer quality, comprehensive legal services to small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals in North Metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

Chris has over 20 years of broad experience in resolving disputes involving many areas of business, contracts, construction, and real estate matters, and in providing general business counsel. He enjoys bringing his many years of litigation experience to the creative process of handling corporate and transactional matters: forming businesses and nonprofit organizations, drafting and updating corporate governance documents like shareholder and operating agreements, and reviewing and drafting various business documents like contracts, commercial leases, and employment agreements. Chris loves taking on new challenges and learning new areas of law, but he is always mindful to "know what he doesn't know" -- if his professional opinion is that another attorney would be better suited to handle your matter, he will gladly bring that attorney into the counsel relationship and work with you and co-counsel to get the best result for your situation.

Throughout his career Chris has contributed his legal skills to the community through groups whose mission he supports, like pro-life pregnancy centers, the Alliance Defending Freedom, and other ministries.

Chris proudly serves Whispering Hope Women's Resource & Pregnancy Center, located in Cumming, as a member of its Board of Directors.
