Maritime
Admiralty and maritime law is a complex area governed by a variety of federal statutes. Your rights and opportunities to recover monetary compensation under the Jones Act and other maritime laws may be much different than those of other types of law.
In addition to hundreds of cases involving drilling rigs, barges, tugboats, other vessels, oil platforms and transport helicopters on U.S. waterways, our attorneys at Doyle Raizner have handled numerous maritime law cases originating in international and foreign waters. If you need a lawyer to evaluate your maritime injury claim, contact our Texas-based firm today.

Recent maritime cases we have successfully resolved include substantial verdicts and settlement awards for:
-A boat captain severely injured in a mutiny off the coast of Angola
-The victim of an accident aboard the dredging vessel Pontchartrain, for which the Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company was found 100 percent liable
-Injuries suffered by a captain being transferred in a personnel basket between vessels in the Gulf of Mexico
-A Mississippi man who suffered chemical burns and spinal injuries in an offshore helicopter crash — involving negligence in rescue efforts by defendant Houston Helicopters, Inc.
-A mechanic on a seismic survey vessel operated by WesternGeco Resources, Inc., who suffered permanent spinal injuries when his head struck an improperly placed beam, resulting in a Jones Act claim and verdict affirmation in trial court

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Only a select number of law firms in Texas or elsewhere have the experience, skill and tenacity to handle complex domestic and international personal injury claims. At Doyle Raizner LLP, our attorneys have earned the respect of legal peers and clients across the United States and throughout the world for obtaining significant jury verdicts, settlements, and judgments on behalf of the injured and grieving.

No matter where you live, if your serious injury or a loved one's death was caused by the negligence of an American individual or corporation or a foreign company doing business in the U.S., please contact us. Our attorneys strive to help injured people recover monetary compensation for damages suffered. We welcome all inquiries from victims as well as other lawyers who want favorable results for their clients.

Our attorneys are widely known as skilled trial lawyers able to deliver for our clients in high-value, challenging cases. We do not hesitate to take a maritime, military or other injury case before a judge and jury, where we have an impressive record of success. Equally important, we have the resources to deal with imposing costs and support you in important ways throughout negotiation or litigation.

We have built this reputation by delivering positive financial outcomes for men, women and families suffering due to:
-Injuries or death at sea, or at work in shore-based maritime occupations, whether covered by the Jones Act or other federal or state laws
-Insurance bad faith after the devastation of a hurricane, a workplace injury or other catastrophic event
-Serious injury suffered while traveling internationally for work or pleasure
-The negligence of military contractors such as KBR, Inc. (Kellogg Brown & Root), the company we are actively holding accountable for exposing many U.S. and U.K. soldiers to toxic hexavalent chromium
-Helicopter crashes and other aviation accidents

We have a strong history of successfully navigating legal systems in the U.K. and other countries, enabling us to triumph in cases that might surpass the capabilities of other lawyers. You can depend on caring guidance, straight-forward answers and commitment to justice when you turn to us at the Houston-based law firm Doyle Raizner LLP.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?
